When I’m in Portland I always include a visit to Cultured Caveman! Friendly and knowledgeable staff, the food is delicious and most importantly celiac safe, and there are keto options. Recommend the side of deep fried Brussel sprouts!

Definitely celiac-safe, but there are almost no veggie and vegan options. If you're keto or paleo, this food is for you, but to me the food was blah.

My food was pretty good and I loved that it was all safe for me! However the menu choices were a miss for several in my large group, which makes it hard to eat here if no one wants to come with you. In the end everyone was sharing my kid’s chicken nuggets. Apparently those were really good. Lol

Second time there and had the cashew chicken, which is fabulous and very flavorful. I love that it is healthy food, made with good ingredients, and best of all, it is a dedicated gluten free restaurant!

This place has some amazing food. I had there chicken strips and were delicious I ate them dry though because I wasn’t a fan of the sauce they came with, and the ketchup they gave me was way to strong with cinnamon it tasted like they poured half the bottle in. But their sweet and sour chicken is spot on. Definitely would go back.

This past Sunday when we were in Portland, we tried out their restaurant for lunch. I'd first heard about them when I worked at Janell's Gluten-Free Market and have been wanting to check them out ever since. My 11 yr old and I both have Celiac's, and on top of that, I have 5 major food allergies, so it makes it near impossible to eat out anywhere. My whole family ate there and LOVED it! My son could order anything off of their menu, and I could have almost anything. Their food is AMAZING and is 100% safe for those on a gf and/or Paleo diet! I really wish they'd open up a location in Olympia, WA. I can't wait to go back to Portland and eat there again! <3

Dedicated Gluten,Soy, Legume, Corn and Dairy Free! Absolutely allergy friendly establishment. They serve autoimmune protocol; low fodmap; and vegan meals. A bit pricey but standard for comparative allergy aware and autoimmune friendly. The fish tacos were great; the broccoli bacon slaw was amazing! My daughter loved the chicken tenders - my youngest daughter ordered hot dogs and did not like them at all - they graciously swapped it for the chicken tenders no questions/charge. 1 less star becuz it wasn’t fries day - apparently they only serve fries on Mondays and my kids were are big on fries. Coffee was strong and testy-excellent! Just what I needed before my long drive back to Cali!

Traveling to Portland, OR for 4 days and now i never want to leave now that I found the Cultured Caveman!

My friend and I had dinner there last night and all we both can say is WOW. we could not stop eating/tasting and enjoying the great food!

I had the chili and she the curry.... both delicious. and the sides! Don't miss the almond/date bacon wrapped delight that is one of your potential sides...

today we're going in for the carnitas for sure... that LOOKED amazing.

The bone broth was really good (and a lot easier than making it which i usually do 24x7... however get this, they publish recipes for a lot of their food, including the broth on their website.

On the walls of the place, they have pictures of the recipes to make ketchup, all kinds of sauces, their bone broth, and more.

Pass the word... it's truly a great find. We will spend the next 3 days eating there only... why try to find something better, when great food, good prices, AND no gluten, grains, sugar, dairy can be found??? OH and by the way, their guacamole replacement for sour cream...... OUTTA THIS WORLLLLLLD

smiles to all, and enjoy!!! Laura

EVERYTHING they had was gluten/dairy/soy free!!! A very casual restaurant. They had a seating area with couches and an area for children that had a chalkboard and books and such. Their food was delicious and filling, so I'd say the price was great! Just the same as any sit-down restaurant. Their deserts were good too but I had to get mine Togo because I was so full :)

Located in the historic Kenton neighborhood, you can order anything on the menu and stick to your gluten free food plan! Absolutely amazing mushroom soup. Familiar dishes, prepared according to the paleo diet plan, always grain free. Zucchini noodles and meatballs were delicious.

I have an onion allergy and my wife is celiac, everything was fine for her but was over salted and lacked flavor. Mine had onions even with trying to find something that didn't. We might try again, maybe we went on an off day.

Emailed the owner and three of the people that eat here have Celiac's disease and everything is gluten free. My boyfriend is super sensitive to cross contamination and he's eaten here several times with no issues at all. Owner says the spices are gluten free and produce is thoroughly washed. Awesome place!

These guys are such a blessing for our Celiac family. The owners are usually working in the business and they are 100% committed to delivering the goods. The entire staff (but especially Kevin, Starling, Heather and Joe) are super knowledgeable and friendly. The joint is super kid friendly, too. They have a play area with lots of dinosaurs. DINOSAURS, people!

Not just gluten, soy and dairy free. They understand ALL food allergies, and will accommodate you without judgment.

The food is tasty. Go there and eat. Have fun. Bring a the family. Pretend you are just a regular person heading out to dinner for once. You don't have to worry about getting sick!

Don't you deserve it?

I had "Zoodles and Meatballs" (zucchini noodles). I really wasn't impressed with this meal. The noodles were tiny strings of zucchini and very tomato-y. There were far more tomatoes than zucchini. I expected thicker noodles. I also had the dates and almonds wrapped in bacon and they were amazing. The staff was very nice and I like the idea behind the restaurant...I just really didn't like what I had.
