I asked for the gluten free menu and they gave me a sheet of paper that listed the Barbecue Meats that were safe - Texas style beef brisket, sliced beef brisket, honey barbecue ham, tender turkey breast, old recipe sausage, and Spivey cheddar sausage. I don’t eat red meat so that left only turkey. Then it listed the safe Sides - coleslaw, potato salad, green beans with bacon, Caesar salad, chips, and waffle iron fires. The chips were a bag of Lay’s that said gluten free although not certified and they said this location didn’t have the fries.
My server did wash his hands, use a separate tray for my order (separate from my husband’s that contained gluten), and put gloves on. It was presumably safe although also disappointing to have three slabs of pressed turkey and soggy green beans with bacon I tried to avoid.
Note: I have celiac but no immediate reactions so I can’t be sure when I get exposed.
