Amazing experience and huge GF menu, completely safe for celiac. Gluten free menu is extensive and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Went here for brunch. Their regular menu is super detailed about gluten free and everything. However, the brunch menu has no info at all. Got the divorced eggs (or something like that) on corn tortillas and haven’t had a reaction. I just wish their menu could be a bit more detailed for gluten free brunch options.

Ordered the fish tacos with rice and beans and it was very good. The gluten free menu was extensive and they had an extensive vegan menu. Staff was knowledgeable and careful with ingredients I had to leave off.

Super great options here, they were even able to accommodate me for the daily special off the gluten free menu. It was absolutely delicious food and this is one of my highest recommended Newport eats

I got the street tacos with chicken tinga from the GF menu. Love that they have a GF specific menu. I also got a side of chips and salsa from the GF menu and they were great!

We mentioned GF each time we ordered; food came out correctly and I wasn’t sick. However as others said, food/service wasn’t very good - I think they were hunting for a bag of gf chips since the tables next to ours ordered apps 5 minutes after us and their nachos both came out before our gf chips and guac. They also brought out the wrong entree at first (nachos that still looked gf instead of quesadillas) and then added 2 random entrees (not the nachos) to our check. So safe enough for gf, but if we were on Yelp I wouldn’t recommend

Great margaritas. Decent Mexican food. Fun atmosphere. Order chips specifically GF. My husband had the shrimp and scallop ceviche and it only had shrimp and he didn’t like it.

Not worth it if you have Celiac. The food was ok, and the service was poor. I left with a headache and could feel a fever coming.

We were served reg chips from a non dedicated fryer. I even asked once they put the plate down that these were the corrected chips. Then we received gf nachos which arrived with diff chips o then asked why they were diff and they said they made a mistake. I had stressed my child had celiac and they reassured me it was safe yet they served us chips that were cross contaminated there is no dedicated fryer.

They brought GF chips for the table, which were very good. The fish tacos were delicious and the corn tortillas were soft. Our waiter seemed quite knowledgeable.

Diego’s has an excellent gluten free menu and a vegan menu! The staff is very knowledgeable and take food allergies seriously, and their menu has a special disclaimer on the gluten free menu asking for people to say if they have celiac disease so that the kitchen can take extra precautions to limit cross contamination! I felt so comfortable eating at Diego’s knowing that they understand Celiac Disease!

GF menu & educated on CC. Chicken nachos were amazing, as was the smoked brisket. Craft cocktail selection out of this world! This makes for a fun, Celiac safe meal. Negative: parking is valet only in the Middletown location & it’s so, so unnecessary. 😕

We ate here twice and loved it! Food was safe and really good.

Very yummy. They used to have a gluten free menu. Last time I went they handed me the menu, then came to my table and took it away because they don’t offer as many dishes anymore and no longer have a separate menu
They didn’t have a separate menu when we were there, but staff was well informed and very helpful in selecting GF items.
Yes
They had a separate menu. Items that are gluten free but not celiac safe are marked.
Food was very good. Recommend the salsa 4 way.

The drinks, amazing. The nachos, amazing. The staff, amazing. Everything was honestly amazing and a huge gluten free menu! Will totally be returning for sure!! 🤩
A small place but well worth it. I had the fish tacos and they were so good. The gluten free corn tortillas were so good and did not fall apart. Also had the nachos with chicken. Lots of food and so yummy. A little on the pricey side but again it’s worth it.
Yes
Dedicated gluten free menu and separate frialator for chips. Delicious fresh Mexican food and fun atmosphere. I live in Newport and this is my favorite restaurant!
Yes
They fried my chips separately in a dedicated gluten free fryer! Also corn tortillas for burritos, etc
server was nice enough, location was happeneing, but we waited 40 min for a table. we then ordered a simple lunch and proceeded to wait for over an hour. we cancelled our check before we were fed. they did take the $$ off the bill.

Diego's has an extensive gluten free menu with tons of options. I got the "perfect rice bowl" and gluten free tortilla chips. It was delicious! The vibe in this restaurant is really cool and fun. The kitchen is open to the rest of the restaurant which is unique. I'd definitely recommend eating here!

I come to Newport every summer and always look forward to eating at Diego's. Very knowledgable of what items are gluten free and even bring you GF chips. The fish tacos are my favorite!
Bartender took great care of us, server was eh. The food was delicious, but I write this review quite literally crying in pain less then an hour after my meal and drink. FOOD IS NOT CELIAC SAFE, and while I took a chance eating at a place with no separate kitchen (which is plenty risky), the reviews about this establishments safety for celiacs are completely coming into question. Perhaps a great place if you are not sensitive to cross contamination, because that's all I can gather the cause of this attack to be (unless there was some sort of mix up in the kitchen) and as I said, the food was nothing short of stellar. Also, upon hearing I was a celiac, the bartender came over to our table and assisted me. The server somewhat copped a bit of a 'tude when I informed her of celiacs, which is always annoying. That "subconscious eye-roll" so to speak. Gets a "3" because of glutening, would have been a "5" other wise.

Great Mexican place. Definitely go there if you like Mexican food. They have a lot of gf options. Very tasty. They are, however, a bit heavy on the rice. About half of my dish was rice. Service is also very good.
Yes
Nice quick option for casual dining. Great location. Good food.
Yes
5 stars for taste and an extensive GF menu. Be cautious though as they list a few fried items on their GF menu even though there's no dedicated fryer.
A-maz-ing!!!!! Wow- this food was sooooo good. Definitely come here!!!

My favorite spot on the Wharf for gluten free dining. The guacamole is to die for and the dishes are a bundle of flavors in each bite. The wait staff is knowledgeable and attentive to allergies. One waitress in particular, Hannah went out of her way to make sure my white sangria was gluten free. Hannah and the bartender made a delicious concoction. She even brought over the brunch menu so I could pick her brain on what was available. If you are traveling to Newport make sure to stop by this gem on the Wharf. You will not be disappointed.
Yes
Great spot, small and fun. Great food and great drinks! You can have their chips and salsa, the salsa four ways is the best. Hard not to fill up on these before your meal comes.
Yes
Only had the chips and salsa and a margarita, but everything was great.
Tasty mexican. Helpful staff, but always check with server before eating though as they're pretty busy and mix-ups happen. Advised of cocktail choices too, which was thoughtful.
