Great experience, and I loved the atmosphere. I really really wanted to give five stars when I left last night because the food was tasty and our server seemed well-versed in celiac needs and said the kitchen was familiar as well (repeat: she was wonderful!). Unfortunately I think somehow I still got contaminated there from something because I am a symptomatic celiac and I have major symptoms today, ones that are specific to when I am glutened. I would still go again, and I would still recommend — I would just ask to speak to the manager or chef or something to make sure everyone involved in prep was extra careful and ask about more nuanced details of the process.

Went here and our server was not very knowledgeable about gluten free stuff on the menu. The regular menu did not have anything marked gluten free or not. I went to order and mentioned that I have an allergy and she struggled to find the gluten free menu I didn’t know they even had. It was just a short menu of the three or four things on the regular menu that didn’t have gluten in it. I got the ribs which came with a salad and a baked potato and it was really good. If you’re looking for options this is not the place to go, but the couple things they do have is ok. No gf desserts besides ice cream.

We did the tavern. Great atmosphere. Super cool. Food was excellent. Waitress was knowledgeable and asked when she wasn’t sure on things. (I have dairy intolerance too) definitely recommend. Go early… no reservations and line was out the door at 6pm.

There’s no gluten free menu here. They have a list of items that are supposed to be safe but it is extremely limited and there isn’t anything except salads available if you come before 5pm except the catch of the day. After 5 you are limited to four dinner options. You cannot get crab meat, they use filler that contains gluten.

Loved the Cozy Tavern. The chicken was sold out. Apparently, they only make so much each day, and it’s very popular. I ended up getting the ribs. They were very good. Our waitress was amazing!

They do not mark GF on the menu, but from another review here I saw that the spit roasted chicken should be gluten free. The server did confirm with the kitchen that it was GF. The chicken was really good and I didn’t get sick from it!

We went to Dobbon House for lunch, and were not disappointed. I had emailed earlier in the week to ask about their gluten free menu and Lauren gave me a huge list. I explained to the waitress that our son was celiac and she said she'd tell the kitchen. The selection was great- and the private house tour after was exceptional.
Here is the list that I was given:
Tavern menu:
Crab dip - substitute vegetables in place of bread
Adam's Delight - served without sweet bread
Shrimp Cocktail
Spinach salad or Caesar salad (without croutons)
Springhouse Spread - served without sweet bread
Catch of the Day
Spit Roasted Chicken
Filet Mignon, NY Strip - served without Au jus
Crab meat Ala Dobbin
Smoked BBQ ribs
Alexander Dobbin's Dining room menu:
Avocado Louis
Shrimp Cocktail
Caesar Salad or Spinach salad - no croutons
Filet Mignon, NY Strip, Prime Rib - served without Au Jus
Roast Duck
Pork Tenderloin
Hunter's Chicken - served without brown sauce
Catch of the Day
Scallops - without the flour
Crab meat Ala Dobbin

Many options and they were happy to accommodate. They did make mistakes that were easy to spot (croutons on the salad) but happily fixed it with no fuss at all. My celiac kiddo enjoyed the filet off of the kids menu with a baked potato, applesauce and raspberry sorbet.
GF menu. Decent amount of choices and delicious food
On a recent trip to Gettysburg we were glad to find this restaurant on the app as it had been recommended to us by others. We ate at the Springhouse Tavern which is for casual dining in the basement of The Dobbin House. There was a gluten free menu and our waitress was very knowledgeable as to what we could and could not have. I only wished that there had been a soup option for those who are GF.

Visiting Gettysburg and we went here for dinner. Having eaten here before my diagnosis, I figured I would be able to find something to eat. When I asked for guidance on the menu, they provided a cheat sheet and recommended two different dishes that were gluten free without modifications in addition to many that could be made gluten free. I had the pork tenderloin and it was delicious - my husband had the filet and ordered it without the au jus so I could try it. I was super impressed with the meal and the service.
