Gorgeous artistic pastries in a beautiful setting. I was, however, not confident about the gluten free designations. The person that took our order pointed out what was gluten free - some things were labeled and some not and he did not seem sure. Most desserts are mousse based, which I am sure is gf, but many rest on cake bases and some have crumbled cake in the decor. My friend and I could not find the difference between the gluten full and what we were told was gf when we ate them - maybe they are just that good at gf, but we were skeptical. I erred on the side of caution and ate around the cake. That said, the pastries are spectacular - just be careful and when I go back I will ask more question.

Edelweiss is worth a splurge! Incredibly artistic, imaginative European-style pastries, with over half their offerings gluten-free. So many flavors to choose from. Gorgeous presentation - almost like sculpture - and absolutely delicious! It’s located in a lovely old house with beautiful porch seating, as well as cafe tables indoors. Perfect spot for an elegant and relaxing coffee hour. No offerings other than pastries, coffee, and cold drinks. Not sure about behind the scenes kitchen safety, but GF pastries are in a separate case from flakey/crumbly items like croissants and Danish, and are each on a tiny individual tray for storage and serving, protecting against cross-contamination. My sensitive celiac spouse had two separate visits without post-visit incident and felt confident about safety.
