Went here yesterday and explained that I was celiac and missed eating the fried rice, the waitress told me they cater to tons of gluten free people and have gluten free soy sauce and a way of making it safe. I ate about half of the rice and by the time I got home (about 30 min later) I was blown up like a balloon and vomiting. I plan on speaking to management about this soon but I want to warn other celiacs. I have eaten here and just gotten sushi and been fine but there is obviously some serious cross contamination with the rice and I’m so sad that the waitress assured me so confidently that it was safe and it wasn’t :(

This restaurant is awesome! I hadn’t had sushi since my diagnosis 7 yrs ago but heard about Edojin and gave it a try. Just let your server know you are gf. They make everything with new cutting boards and clean knives. They also have gf soy, you may have to ask for it. I have eaten here twice in the last 2 months and have never had a problem. They can prepare most things gf.

Yes
I dined at this facility about two weeks after my CD diagnosis, based on recommendations from other celiacs on social media. I was still slightly uneducated and didn’t research each menu item like I should have and took recommendations from my server. She brought “gluten free soy sauce” to my table for me, but it was in a normal (gluten containing) bottle that they obviously had just washed out and refilled, and wrote “GF” on the top with a sharpie, so I declined that. That should have been my hint. One of my food options was the spicy tuna, which I love, but by the time we paid our tab, I was starting to feel sick. Later, my research indicated that the spicy tuna usually isn’t safe because they mix it with something containing gluten. I’m not entirely sure that’s what did it, but I spent several hours with terrible stomach cramps.
