Amazing food. Had a party of 14, and they were able to easily accommodate us. I'm the only gluten free diner. Their house made GF buns are the best I have had in a decade of being GF. The server knew exactly how to order, and what was safe and not safe. We tried their ceviche, which was an interesting take. Spicy but delicious. Summer burger for me with their potato salad that had hints of dill.

Had a great burger while visiting Mystic for the weekend. They did not have a GF menu but they did have homemade GF buns for the burgers. I had a burger with mushrooms and brie on a GF bun, it was very tasty. They told me the fryer is not dedicated, but I am usually ok with french fries so I had them, I am NCGS. I did not get sick after this meal and would recommend it.

Taste, 4 stars, service 2. The positive was the burger and bun. Simply amazing taste and texture. Well worth the $2 gf upcharge. We went for a late lunch, the restaurant had a good amount of people in it, but it wasn’t too busy. However, we were there for over an hour and a half (we didn’t order any drinks, apps or dessert). We ordered and then waited 30 minutes for our food. Not sure what the long wait time was, other tables were getting their food, maybe it was the gf bun?? No idea, the server didn’t check in us until we were ready for our check. I highly recommend getting the dressing on the side of the spring mix salad (the only gf side) mine was drenched in vinegar.

Great experience at the Engine Room. Had the chicken burger with a delicious gluten free bun. No dedicated fryer so I went with a green salad on the side. Potato salad was also offered. The appetizer GF steamed mussels were delicious too. I went a happy hour and got a Ghostfish beer for only $5. Waitress knew about celiac disease and explained their protocols. Great spot for a casual meal and highly recommend!

Absolutely amazing experience. I went for dinner with friends and was so so happy with my meal. I also have other food allergies that interfere with most meals. I asked if their homemade bun had almond flour as I am allergic and they did not know. However they did not stop there, they called their baker and asked about the recipe to ensure I could eat it instead of just having me pick something else. I am actually going back again for my birthday this weekend. So pleased with my first experience

This place had the best homemade gluten free bun I have ever had in my life. It was moist, did not break at all, and tasted like actual bread. They make them in house and have a special recipe. Also, Jordan C, fantastic waiter. Highly recommend!

Took my son here after reading good reviews on this site. He ordered a burger with bacon and cheese on a gf bun. Waitress seemed knowledgeable about Celiac disease and reassured us all would be handled appropriately. When his meal came out of the kitchen, there was a small spot of barbecue sauce on the bun and maybe more on the burger. It was hard to tell. We asked the waitress and she said she would have them make a new one. This took quite a long time so we ended up getting it for takeout and my son ate in the car. Not ideal. He said the burger was excellent as well as the gf bun. He did not get sick.

We had an excellent lunch at Engine Room, our first stop in Mystic. We ordered the Mushroom Mae on a gf bun, and it was SO good! The bread was flavorful and fluffy without being too spongy, like a lot of gf breads are. The whole burger was delicious. It came with a creamy potato salad, and we also ordered the Local Fish Ceviche, which was very different than the Mexican style we are used to, but also very good. It wasn't difficult to eat gf, without having to order just salad, everything was tasty, and I felt great afterward.

Fantastic food! I ordered the Mushroom Mae burger with the housemade GF bun. With a side of Potato salad. They advised the fried are cross contaminated in the fryer so I opted to be safe since I have Celiac. The burger bun has like an everything seasoning on it. It was amazing & soft. The burger was cooked just right and that chef did something amazing with the burger toppings. The potato salad was delicious. The Hibiscus creme brulee is also gluten free and deliciousf as well. Our son ordered the kids Cheeseburger on a glute. Free bun. He devoured it.

My husband is a big bourbon fan and eats all the gluten so this was a great restaurant balance or all of us. The inside gets pretty npisy as this is also a bar but so good! Service was fantastic as well. Morgan was well informed for the GF options.

Terrible experience. I ordered for a Cobb salad, Gluten free and dairy free, for takeout. When I arrived, I double checked the salad and it had cheese on it. They remade the salad, which they marked as gluten free, and I brought it home. It had breaded ingredients on top of it. So they screwed up the order twice in a row. I will NEVER go back here.

Waitress was knowledgeable, ordered a burger with no bun. They brought it out with a gluten bun at first, but immediately took it back and replaced it (somewhat open kitchen, so I saw them toss the first one). We got there just after the Father’s Day brunch rush. We were able order from the lunch menu. We had a nice experience and the food was delicious. They were out of the roasted vegetable curry, The gf buns have oats in them and they had run out of tofu which I was planning to sub for a burger. The carrot bisque was delicious, gf and df . The beets salad was yummy and they substituted the gf goat cheese dressing with a sherry balsamic vinaigrette. The potato salad was really good and the chicken patty on lettuce was good. They had several ciders and the drink menu looked great. Our server was very helpful.

Amazing burgers. They have homemade gluten free buns!!! They are soft and squishy. They’re so amazing I actually had to double check they were really gluten free. The buns remind me of pretzel flavor because of the salt on top. The staff is knowledgeable about allergies. I got a burger with coleslaw that also rocked! No dedicated fryer but the bun is so good you won’t even miss fries. They also have a bunch of ciders, including draft options

We loved this place! Great energy, great food! My husband had the pulled pork on a GF roll. I had a chicken burger on a GF roll, both sandwiches were delicious. We will definitely be back. They make their own GF buns and I think they are the best we have ever had. The hostess said some people just order the GF buns because they like them even though they don't follow a GF diet. We are dairy free also and had no trouble ordering from their regular menu. As another reviewer said their fries are not done in a dedicated fryer but we are not celiac so we were ok with that. The fries were awesome.

Excellent burgers, GF rolls, but watch out for the fried onions, they aren't GF and nobody thought to take those off when I asked for GF, I had to catch that and ask them to double check. Good selection of bourbon and beer, including a few GF beers.

My husband (not GF) and I ate here last night, and I was very impressed! I had a "crispy tofu burger" on a GF bun, with fries (GF!!) on the side. It was absolutely delicious--much more tasty than you can imagine a "tofu burger" would be. I kept "mmm-ing" and "yum-ing" all through the meal. I'd go there again, for sure!
