Would give no stars if I could. No gluten-free specialty items - no problem. Having so little cheese and bacon in a scramble that you think they forgot to put it in the dish - huge problem. Go to Egg Harbor Cafe or Another Broken Egg instead.
They don't have a dedicated menu, but can make a few things: Ham, potato's, eggs, omelette, bacon and sausage. We all ordered gluten free since I don't have to but do because my husband and son are both GF. Just easier that way. Our breakfast came and I had half my Gluten-free omelette eaten, when our server brought out a new one to me and said the cook said she put bread on that omelette before it was served to you. I was glad that it was mine and not my son's breakfast, but then I wondered how careful are they in the back? I didn't need the other omelette and wished they would have been a bit more careful and had checked with me before they cooked another one. I did appreciate that they did that, but the omelette was half eaten before they told me it had bread on it. Hoping they are a bit more careful for people who have severe reactions from either celiac or non celiac gluten sensitivity issues.
We live nearby and eat here often. There are plenty of GF options and they are more than willing to make substitutions. They don't offer any baked goods or pancakes, but the egg dishes, potatoes and fruit are are very good. We've never had a problem here. My favorite is the bacado omelet.
we chose this restaurant because of the app and reviews. Was told when we arrived that there was no gluten free menu or pancakes and that I needed to check their website for the gluten free options but they would make no guarrantees.
Great price, portions & service! I drive passed this place every day to go to work, so glad I went today!
They got rid of their gluten free menu.
Went this morning. The full site has a gluten-free guide located under menus and nutrition. The guide will instruct you how to order from the menu when ordering gluten-free. I initially couldn't find it on my phone so they printed it out for me when I got there. The server put a big square on the food slip with gluten-free on it and told me that they take their gluten-free orders very seriously. I happened to sit at a table with a view of the kitchen. I heard someone call allergy window and saw a server walk over to the sink and wash her hands and then walk back to a plate that turned out to be mine, pick it up and bring it to my table. The service was friendly and accommodating and the food was very good
Not much of a selection.
They no longer have a gluten free menu due to legal reasons (or so they say). They assured me they could still make me something correctly, but I was having symptoms before I left. After I had ordered, I pretty much knew it would go poorly when she only reassured me that they would change their gloves. I tried to insist that the whole food prep area would have to be cleaned or be separate. Clearly that didn't make a difference.
No, they don't have gluten free bread which is unfortunate but the staff is great and have have an allergy menu so you know what's safe and what's not. I eat there a lot and I feel like I have several good (and many very healthy) choices. You can bring in your own wrap or bread and they'll serve you a bread-less sandwich.
Food was ok but they no longer have a gf menu. I met a friend there after seeing this restaurant was list here. I walked in and I was told oh we don't have GF menus anymore but we have an allergen menu. They judge their dishes as a whole so only list 3 items (all sides) that are GF because all entries come with English muffins. So you have to use you knowledge when ordering. Probably not the best place.
Great GF options
The GF menu wasn't as clear as some, which is why I rate them at 4. If you want a sandwich, they'll bring it out deconstructed rather than risk cross contamination by taking the GF bread you bring in back into the kitchen. (Yes, that's right - bring your own GF bread & they'll let you use it for their sandwiches. That's what knocked them down to a 3.) I had the quinoa power bowl and will definitely be back for that when I'm in the neighborhood again. Great service and there are obviously used to dealing with GF issues. Not to mention, "oh my, yum!"
Good GF options. Staff is very helpful. You can have the potatoes which is not the case at many options. There very accommodating to other food sensitivities as well.
I was very disappointed with the service and menu here. They recently changed menu items & when I came in with my family for Sunday brunch I was told I needed to get on-line to look up the menu - never offered to print it for me so I wouldn't need to search the web - when my phone wouldn't view the full site and I couldn't see my options they did print me a menu. The options are awful - all dressings contain Gluten as well as all condiments (mayo, ketchup. Etc). Talked to the manager and he was friendly but didn't like my complaint. After tying to read through the menu with me he do ally agreed it was very confusing. I told him this change was in the wrong direction and very frustrating & disappointing. Told him I will not be back until I see a more gluten free friendly menu. Also told him to check out Cap City's GF me and compare. Trying to help them out but think they were more on the defense than really listening.
Although First Watch offers a "GLUTEN FREE MENU" they really don't have much to choose from. Example; one can order the Eggs Benedict yet it is not served with gluten free english muffin. In fact it is not served an english muffin at all. Oh forget about the hollandaise sauce (it has gluten) their for it is not served with any sauce. WHAT'S THE POINT IN ADVERTISING A GLUTEN FREE MNEU. I find this to be deceiving and insulting when they could very well have gluten free flour to make english muffins and to add to the hollandaise sauce. Oh did I mention you can order gluten free pancakes with out the pancakes. You get a plate of syrup. On the daily special's menu they did have a delicious Quinua with tomato, kale, and a yummy pesto sauce.
good breakfast, knowledgeable and haven't gotten sick here after many trips. ask for the gluten free menu before getting seated. GF menu could be a little friendlier to use, but it works.
These folks were kind enough to pan grill pre buttered gluten-free bread I brought with me so I could enjoy toast with my sausage and eggs! A simple call ahead worked wonders.
Went here for lunch and had an excellent gf greek omelet with southern potatoes and they substituted a fruit cup for the english muffin that would normally come with the meal. The waitress was very helpful and knowledgeable with all of my questions. She was happy to ask someone if she didn't know the answer herself. I was very pleased with everything.
Love going there for breakfast or lunch.
awesome food and very knowledgeable staff. they do not use pancake batter in their omelettes so the selection for gf is vast. the potatoes are also safe and delicious
My favorite breakfast/lunch place before going GF. I appreciate their detailed menu descriptions of gluten/non-gluten items but wish the options weren't so limited for me now. Must encourage First Watch to offer GF bread and tortillas...would be so easy to do and make many of their items more appealing!
Great food and knowledgeable staff. Allergen menu and cooperative kitchen staff. They have always been able to accommodate my needs.
Excellent service, good selection, very accommodating. Highly recommend.
Delicious gluten free pasta bravo. They offer three different pasta choices on their gluten free menu. Highly recommend!
Servers are super friendly. They have a GF menu on their website. I have had good experiences the few times I've been.
This is a great dinner out option. They even serve gluten free pasta! Always a delightful meal.
The food and service was excellent. The server and manager were extremely pleasant even cheerful. The food on all accounts was scrumptious - and I rarely use that word to describe food anymore, most never deserve it. Anyway the reason for only three stars is this: my food came out wrong twice. I ordered the Via Veneto which has italian sausage, spinach, roasted red peppers, mozzarella and parmesan cheeses along with an English muffin. I requested no parm cheese, spinach, or English muffin. I ended up with tomato in my omlet. I'm allergic to tomatoes and gluten and no mention of tomatoes was in the description in the menu or online. I sent the food back and when it came out it had spinach, parm cheese, and the English muffin. Granted, the muffin was on a separate plate, but still I was getting things I specifically requested to be absent. I picked as much spinach as I could and just ate the omlet and it was pretty good. My companions had no issues with their food.
Good food and service but they only offer naturally gf foods like eggs, fruit, cottage cheese.
Food was great and the server was very knowledgeable about all g-free options.
Excellent and quite a variety, reasonably priced.
Make sure waiter understands your gluten needs.
Very flavorful and fresh! Best breakfast/ cafe I've ever ate at :)
Really great for gluten free breakfast!!!
Love this place!!! So fresh and good:)
incredible g free breakfast options! amazing omelets and seasoned potatoes. staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating. went there 2 days in a row for breakfast while on vacation. highly recommend!
Great experience, and food! Looking forward to my next visit.
service was good. food was good. you have to ask for the gluten free menu. I was disappointed that no pancakes were gluten free.
Great service and they have a gluten free menu.
gluten free but food is not that great. nice to have a place to eat breakfast though
first time here. great menu
the gf menu was super easy to read, the service was great, the food came fast (we had a party of 11),and the food was very good. The prices were very reasonable too, about $8 was the average plate.
Just ask for the GF menu - they have a separate one that has many options and is quite detailed! Wonderful, friendly, attentive and accommodating staff. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful. Delicious food! (Though it does get very busy, especially on weekends..but the wait is never very long) We love this location and always have a great experience here.
