I ordered a cheeseburger and was suggested to have it in a “bowl” which is two burger patties, cheese, and toppings of your choice. I requested it be made for gluten allergy/Celiac Disease (I mentioned without a bun, a change of gloves, and wipedown of the counter).
The guy taking my order informed the guy on the grill of the allergy. The guy who took my order did not change his gloves or wipe down the counter (he wore the same gloves as when he took my order). I did say something but he either didn’t hear me or pretended to not hear me.
So I ate it all anyway knowing the risk of cross contact.

The staff knew a lot about celiacs and took it very seriously. I watched them change their gloves, utensils, and the guy taking my order offered a lettuce wrap since there are not gluten free buns. The fries are in a dedicated fryer. Only the normal fries are gluten free. The Cajun seasoning is NOT safe. They communicated well that my order was gluten free and assured me everything was when I picked it up. Super yummy!

Excellent food. Bun-less burgers and fries are safe (dedicated GF fryer). Reliable and delicious. Staff is careful to avoid cross-contamination.

I appreciate that they always ask if my lettuce wrapped order is an allergy. Fries are the only thing in the fryer, so no worries about cross contamination.

I’ve gone three times in two months and it’s been great every time. I tell them “allergy warning, I have celiac’s”. I order mine on lettuce (they do a really great job at wrapping the burger in lettuce), with everything on it.
I then inform them that my spouse would like a normal bacon burger on a bun. The staff has always reassured me and I hear them tell each other “allergy!” while cooking. They’ve always put my burger in a different bag marked “***ALLERGY***” and there was a red sticker on the tin foil of my burger.
If you’ve never been to a Five Guys, they have a very limited menu of just burgers (bacon, cheese, or plain) in three sizes, French fries (plain or Cajun), and milkshakes.
The only gluten items on the menu are the buns and malt. The chocolate shakes do not automatically come malted, so there’s never been a worry for me there.
