I ordered a cheeseburger with a gluten-free option and they included extra fries to compensate for the bread 🫶🏽.

Okay, did I feel a little guilty taking my family to an American chain while in Montreal? Well yeah, but our pre-dinner rooftop bar experience had felt very authentic (and expensive) and we just wanted a quick and easy dinner option without having to stress my celiac daughter too much!
This place is a fantastic GF option. The guy behind the counter spoke English perfectly and as soon as we requested a lettuce wrapped burger was shouting "allergy" at the cooks. They don't serve anything breaded so my daughter could actually eat the fries without cross contamination worries and they're good fries! The only thing that seemed to confuse the guy was when I asked if there was flour in the poutine gravy. I still haven't figured that one out so we avoided it....
Really good milkshakes as well and a nice location ok the fringe of old Montreal. They even have a small patio and there's tons of outdoor seating.

Food was good and safe. The had no problem with a lettuce wrap and the cashier spoke English. Even asked about the gluten allergy before I was about to ask about it.

Five Guys restaurant chain is always awesome and I have never gotten sick no matter the location. Huge bonus - you can est the fries! Fries are the only thing in their fryers so they are Gluten Free. You can order a burger either lettuce wrapped or unwrapped and add all your wanted toppings. When ordering tell them it is for a gluten allergy and they take it very seriously. They take all proper precautions to help minimize any cross contamination.
Excellent food. Bun-less burgers and fries are safe (dedicated GF fryer). Reliable and delicious. Staff is careful to avoid cross-contamination.

I appreciate that they always ask if my lettuce wrapped order is an allergy. Fries are the only thing in the fryer, so no worries about cross contamination.

I’ve gone three times in two months and it’s been great every time. I tell them “allergy warning, I have celiac’s”. I order mine on lettuce (they do a really great job at wrapping the burger in lettuce), with everything on it.
I then inform them that my spouse would like a normal bacon burger on a bun. The staff has always reassured me and I hear them tell each other “allergy!” while cooking. They’ve always put my burger in a different bag marked “***ALLERGY***” and there was a red sticker on the tin foil of my burger.
If you’ve never been to a Five Guys, they have a very limited menu of just burgers (bacon, cheese, or plain) in three sizes, French fries (plain or Cajun), and milkshakes.
The only gluten items on the menu are the buns and malt. The chocolate shakes do not automatically come malted, so there’s never been a worry for me there.
