Eat everything but the buns safely! Yummo!
I've never had a problem. Buns are on separate grill from other items French fries are safe. Some locations are better informed than others, sadly.
we asked the staff for their gluten free options. they didn't know what we were talking about, didn't know what gluten was. when we explained, they claimed there are no gluten free items.
Always kind service! every time I order "without" bun the immediately ask if it is due to an allergy and when I say yes the person at the register communicates that to the kitchen right away. everyone dealing with that order changes their gloves and that order is bagged separately. Every time. without fail. never a mistake, never a problem. And their fries are gluten free so it is a huge hit to go here!
The employees were so nice! I told them I had a Gluten Allergy and they were more than happy to accommodate me! My lettuce wrap came in a separate bag and they wiped down the counters before making my burger. Love that the fries have their own fryer too!!!
Burgers are made on separate grill from buns. Fries are gluten free. However, when I was asking if the fries are gluten free and making sure nothing else was fried in the frier, one of the workers felt the need to explain to me that gluten is just flour. Switched gloves but then rested gloved hands in bread crumbs on counter before touching gf burger. Will try another five guys but won't go back to this one.
Celiac review: staff were knowledgeable of the importance of avoiding cross contamination. They have a separate grill to fry your burger and the fries are gluten free. I was excited to have yummy homemade French fries. Not sure if they have GF buns but I had the option of wrapping my burger in lettuce.
We love five guys since they have great fries that aren't cooked with anything else. while they don't have gluten free buns, their hot dogs and hamburgers are great bunless. this particular location was very familiar with celiac and took care to make sure our order was correct.
Wife has Celiac & we've eaten here without any problems 4-5 times. Five Guys does a great job at the corporate level of training everyone on a culture of celiac awareness. This location is no different. As soon as you order "no bun", they immediately ask if it's for an allergy. Then everyone in the kitchen changes gloves to prep the food. They also package/bag it separately from everything else in the order. The staff has been friendly & accommodating about the request every time.
Always mention gluten allergy when ordering. Regular fries are GF. You can get your burger lettuce wrapped or on top of a salad. Ate here 10+ times and never had a reaction.
Love this place! They always change their gloves for food allergies. Burgers and fries are gluten free and awesome! I bring my own bun, but they can do "protein style" too. Yummy! Mike
Always good when I say no bun. Always ask if it's an allergy. Change gloves and make sure all cooks know.
This is a regular stop for me. They serve what they call "allergy" meals in a little tin. It's always very good and I've never gotten sick. However, I wish they carried gf buns. I eat the fries and I've never gotten sick from them.
Fries are good, passed on the burger because they didn't seem to know what to do without a bun. I guess a lettuce wrap isn't possible? Probably depends on who is serving you at the time.
We eat here about once a week or so. I work long hours and when I get off work on Sunday I never feel like cooking. We have a few places in rotation and this is one of them. I always get a burger without a bun and fries. I've never gotten sick eating here and we go pretty frequently. They place my burger in a little aluminum pan and I just eat it with a fork and knife. I used to bring my own gluten free bun, but I stopped doing that just because the food is already so much and so filling that I really don't need the bun.
The staff at the Suwanee Five Guys goes out of their way to make sure there is no cross contact with the hamburger rolls/hotdogs rolls, etc. They are Hebrew Nationals. The meat has no fillers. They are grilled on a separate grill than the meat, etc. They off lettuce wraps in place of the buns. Great quick place if you are out and about. They have fresh french fries made from potatoes that are displayed in the restaurant. They have self serve peanuts as well as using peanut oil for the fries, so if there is a peanut allergy, don't go, but otherwise, a great place for burger and fries.
Absolutely the most humiliating experience I have ever had. Not only was I told that I should know myself about my own allergies when inquiring about which milkshakes are gluten-free, I was told repeatedly to have a 'blessed day' when I told that employee he should be fired. Really, now my religion is an issue? (Of Note: this is the 2nd similar experience at a Five Guys). Why have GF options when the employees DGAF?
Manager Cage was very reassuring about the use of gloves at this location, when filling 'gluten allergy' orders. He has young family with others sensitivities so he seems to get it! Only GF fries are cooked in the fryers. First experience is good so far, updates as events warrant!
I do not recommend this place. I was laughed at and the staff thought I was overreacting and thought it comical when I tried to explain I was celiac. The "shift" manager only did something after I corrected his staff in a cross contamination issue. Dominique one of the staff claimed she had a friend with a severe gluten allergy and then went to wrap my bunless food with the same gloves she had just dressed numerous buns with. When I brought it to her attention she laughed and said no it's fine.
I've eaten at Five Guys loads of times in the past, but my first visit since my celiac diagnosis was fantastic. When I ordered my burger bunless, they asked if it was for an allergy, and didn't make me feel weird or shameful at all about it. Super happy and grateful I can still enjoy Five Guys!
