Option with no gluten available, but cross contamination cannot be guaranteed. Good burgers and fries chain

All locations of Five Guys never disappoint. Fries are safe, which is always an added bonus. Burgers are wrapped in lettuce, but this is the heartiest lettuce wrapped burger I’ve ever had, especially when you add cheese/tomatoes/onions/etc. They take cross contamination very seriously and I always feel safe knowing that my Celiac is being taken seriously.

I am a very cautious celiac, but based on other positive reviews of this chain I decided to give it a try. I let my server know about my condition and he took care of everything. They know to change their gloves, and the buns are kept on a separate side of the grill to prevent cross contamination. I got (and enjoyed) the lettuce wrapped burger with fries. I even waited to post this review so I can definitely say I didn’t get glutened! Just let your server know you need gluten free preparations, and you’re good to go!

Have celiac. Eaten here a lot of times. Only the buns are gluten.
Staff friendly and know about celiac.

Everything here is GF except the buns. They have a dedicated fryer for the fries. You can get your burger in a lettuce wrap. They will also separately prepare your meal if you specify it is an allergy. Highly recommend the Cajun fries!

Excellent food. Bun-less burgers and fries are safe (dedicated GF fryer). Reliable and delicious. Staff is careful to avoid cross-contamination.

I appreciate that they always ask if my lettuce wrapped order is an allergy. Fries are the only thing in the fryer, so no worries about cross contamination.

I’ve gone three times in two months and it’s been great every time. I tell them “allergy warning, I have celiac’s”. I order mine on lettuce (they do a really great job at wrapping the burger in lettuce), with everything on it.
I then inform them that my spouse would like a normal bacon burger on a bun. The staff has always reassured me and I hear them tell each other “allergy!” while cooking. They’ve always put my burger in a different bag marked “***ALLERGY***” and there was a red sticker on the tin foil of my burger.
If you’ve never been to a Five Guys, they have a very limited menu of just burgers (bacon, cheese, or plain) in three sizes, French fries (plain or Cajun), and milkshakes.
The only gluten items on the menu are the buns and malt. The chocolate shakes do not automatically come malted, so there’s never been a worry for me there.
