Just got a chocolate milkshake and I'm so sick. I'm celiac and I'm in such pain right now. Don't chance it

Sub-par for a 5 Guys. Normally a good experience with a well trained staff. GF, we will make you the lettuce wrap, would you like fry’s, both regular and Cajun fries are GF. Not at this location. The guy taking my order was clueless, I asked about the fries, and he did not know. I said ask the cooks, he froze up. Finally he asked one, and the cook pointed to the sign “fried in 100% peanut oil”. I know, is anything else fried in that oil. Clueless. I saw buns on part of the grill with the burgers, looked like they kept them to the left, but didn’t inspire a lot of confidence that they knew what they were doing with GF prep. So far so good, no gluten issues, but This particular store needs some training to bring them up to spec.

Burgers are great, love that i can eat fries too! Staff is always terrific.
Excellent food. Bun-less burgers and fries are safe (dedicated GF fryer). Reliable and delicious. Staff is careful to avoid cross-contamination.

I appreciate that they always ask if my lettuce wrapped order is an allergy. Fries are the only thing in the fryer, so no worries about cross contamination.

I’ve gone three times in two months and it’s been great every time. I tell them “allergy warning, I have celiac’s”. I order mine on lettuce (they do a really great job at wrapping the burger in lettuce), with everything on it.
I then inform them that my spouse would like a normal bacon burger on a bun. The staff has always reassured me and I hear them tell each other “allergy!” while cooking. They’ve always put my burger in a different bag marked “***ALLERGY***” and there was a red sticker on the tin foil of my burger.
If you’ve never been to a Five Guys, they have a very limited menu of just burgers (bacon, cheese, or plain) in three sizes, French fries (plain or Cajun), and milkshakes.
The only gluten items on the menu are the buns and malt. The chocolate shakes do not automatically come malted, so there’s never been a worry for me there.
