All the workers seemed to be pretty clueless about what gluten is and what to do for an allergy. They told me the fries had gluten (they don’t) because they were fried in peanut oil. Didn’t eat them anyways because obviously can’t trust them. Disappointed in what is supposed to be a safe chain.

Ordered a burger as a lettuce wrap and mentioned that my daughter has Celiac, they changed gloves, cleaned a prep surface, and prepped her food in the dedicated “salad” area. Been there three different times and every time we got the same treatment despite having different folks take our order.

Fries are AWESOME!! Get the seasoning on them. The burger with the lettuce bun is great. Bring it home and toast your own bun. Tell them your GF. They put it in separate bag away from others in your order.

I get sick here every time
Everything is GF except buns, we which are toasted on a separate surface from patties/hot dogs. They will change gloves and wipe down surfaces if you ask. GF food is served in a separate foil tray and is handled separately from everything else. They were not too knowledgeable about the topic, other than basic handling, which was okay. You just need to watch them to make sure they don't mishandle the food.
Yes
Excellent food. Bun-less burgers and fries are safe (dedicated GF fryer). Reliable and delicious. Staff is careful to avoid cross-contamination.

I appreciate that they always ask if my lettuce wrapped order is an allergy. Fries are the only thing in the fryer, so no worries about cross contamination.

I’ve gone three times in two months and it’s been great every time. I tell them “allergy warning, I have celiac’s”. I order mine on lettuce (they do a really great job at wrapping the burger in lettuce), with everything on it.
I then inform them that my spouse would like a normal bacon burger on a bun. The staff has always reassured me and I hear them tell each other “allergy!” while cooking. They’ve always put my burger in a different bag marked “***ALLERGY***” and there was a red sticker on the tin foil of my burger.
If you’ve never been to a Five Guys, they have a very limited menu of just burgers (bacon, cheese, or plain) in three sizes, French fries (plain or Cajun), and milkshakes.
The only gluten items on the menu are the buns and malt. The chocolate shakes do not automatically come malted, so there’s never been a worry for me there.
