I’d give 4.5. Tell them you have a gluten allergy, and they mark it in their system and on your receipt. Looked like they changed their gloves somewhat regularly. The fryer is dedicated. Just ask for your burger without a bun, and they’ll ask if you want it in a lettuce wrap or a bowl. I forgot that if you get a regular burger, it comes with two patties. Which was actually nice, especially since it was a bit expensive. I opted for the lettuce wrap, and it was tons of lettuce—a bit too much. Also the pickles seemed slightly sweet, which was a little weird for me. The fries were great. Of course they give you a cup of fries, then dump an extra scoop in the bag. They also give you prepackaged fry sauce. If I’m wanting good-tasting, safe fast food fries, this is probably where I’m coming. Much better than In-n-out fries.

Five guys gets a decent rating because of the fries. They are the only item used by the deep fryer so very safe. The burgers on the other hand are questionable. They use precautions by changing gloves, but I'm not convinced the grill is safe. I would say it's worth a try. Felt bloated afterwards but that could be due to the greasy food.

Great burgers. Just no bun and you're gluten free.
They cook the buns on the same grill as the meat and use the same cookware. Please note this is not safe for those with Celiac.
Excellent food. Bun-less burgers and fries are safe (dedicated GF fryer). Reliable and delicious. Staff is careful to avoid cross-contamination.

I appreciate that they always ask if my lettuce wrapped order is an allergy. Fries are the only thing in the fryer, so no worries about cross contamination.

I’ve gone three times in two months and it’s been great every time. I tell them “allergy warning, I have celiac’s”. I order mine on lettuce (they do a really great job at wrapping the burger in lettuce), with everything on it.
I then inform them that my spouse would like a normal bacon burger on a bun. The staff has always reassured me and I hear them tell each other “allergy!” while cooking. They’ve always put my burger in a different bag marked “***ALLERGY***” and there was a red sticker on the tin foil of my burger.
If you’ve never been to a Five Guys, they have a very limited menu of just burgers (bacon, cheese, or plain) in three sizes, French fries (plain or Cajun), and milkshakes.
The only gluten items on the menu are the buns and malt. The chocolate shakes do not automatically come malted, so there’s never been a worry for me there.
