Review of Flour Garden Bakery

We randomly found this place when I pulled off the freeway in Auburn to find a place for a snack. The location is in a shopping center, very convenient to get on and off the freeway. I was attracted by the sign in the window for organic fruit smoothies, and figured there might be a chance they had gluten free baked goods. I was pleasantly surprised. There were a few GF items in the display cases, along with a lot of glutiney items. We tried GF banana muffins (very soft, probably a high tapioca starch content), GF coconut oatmeal cookies (crispy and good), and a GF brownie with frosting on it (sweet and very rich, we definitely needed to share it). They had a variety of non dairy milks available for coffee or hot chocolate. There was also a mini chocolate torte thing, a whole GF bundt cake and a whole loaf of GF millet bread, which we did not try. They also had coffee and smoothies. Overall the desserts were good, and a great treat after coming back from camping. I don’t know about the cross contamination, but I’m not very sensitive to it. I just wish there were more options! The lunch food seemed to not be GF, but I didn’t ask.
