Food was really good with no reaction. There were quite a few gluten free options. I wouldn’t return to this location because we had a really, really rude waiter. We have our 10 year old wheat allergic son order his food so he can understand how to order with his allergy and alert others to his dietary restrictions. He’s been doing this for years and does a very good job at it. The waiter was very rude to him when he asked a question about the menu to clarify if an item was safe (basically acted annoyed my child talked to him, didn’t answer the question, and when I tried to answer my son’s question told me that his time was precious and we were wasting his time then walked away and came back 10 minutes later, again reiterating that his time was precious) . We chose a non busy time to eat (2pm) because we understand that trying to figure out gluten free menu questions can be hard during peak times, so the restaurant was not crowded. The waiter continued to make condescending comments to my son and my party during the meal every time he came back to the table. My child was sitting in his chair and not being loud or disruptive. This place has a children’s menu so it wasn’t like it was an adults’ only place. They had a gluten free chocolate cake and also sorbet on the menu so we’d planned to stay for dessert but our experience was so bad, we were all ready to go. There is another location in Kona and I would definitely go that one next time.
