Wow!! I have nothing but good things to say about this place! The atmosphere was busy, but it wasn’t too loud at all (I do however recommend making a reservation). Our server was very nice and knowledgeable about allergies. And the food was fantastic! The entrees are small but they all come with a salad and bread so there is more than enough food. They actually had gluten free rolls (and there wasn’t an extra charge on them) that were probably the best GF bread I have ever had. My entree was the scallops and risotto which I cannot recommend highly enough. For dessert we had the flourless chocolate cake and the creme brûlée and they were both to die for. I didn’t have any reactions and I will certainly be back!

This restaurant was excellent and had Gf entrees on the menu clearly marked. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful. They even had GF bread that was delicious! They offered 3 gf desserts too! Highly recommend!

Fried Green Tomatoes is a gem that caters to Celiac disease. The menu features a variety of gluten-free options, and our well-informed server ensured my needs were met. From mussels to cauliflower steak, walleye to creme brulee, every dish was exceptional. They even accommodated my salad preference and offered gluten-free bread. Truly one of my most enjoyable dining experiences post-diagnosis.

Great restaurant for people with gluten allergies (like me). Restaurant clearly states a commitment to accommodate people with food allergies and has gluten-free items clearly marked on their menu. When informed that I had a gluten allergy, the server carefully went through all of the safe options. In addition to what’s on the menu, the house salad that comes with every option is gluten free, the house salad dressing is gluten free, and they have house-baked gluten free bread. The food was excellent. I had the fish special, which was a pan-roasted trout, and it was great. Excellent experience all-around.

I had the Baja shrimp, chicken vesuvio, salad, a gf bun with parmesan and olive oil, and two desserts! They had a gf French silk pice cream and creme brulee and a few other gf dessert! I haven't had this much food in a long time.

Had dinner here with my 14 yr old who is GF. Server was very thoughtful and accommodating. Menu had GF symbols for items that were GF which was really nice to see. My son had shrimp cocktail, mashed potatoes and GF bread. All and all it was a great dinner although I wish they had more kid-friendly GF menu options for him.

Most important thing is that I did NOT get sick! I went in on the faith of other good reviews and was not disappointed whatsoever. From the bread and salad appetizer, to the scallops, to the flourless chocolate cake as dessert, this super sensitive Celiac had an incredible time, a wonderful meal, and a safe experience. I waited a couple of days to write my review to be extra safe and I’m so happy to have found somewhere to enjoy a nice dining experience. Definitely recommend!

Fried Green Tomatoes was easily the best restaurant my husband and I ate at during our recent trip to Galena. Our server was very knowledgeable and double checked with the kitchen for each thing I ordered. The food was outstanding and I had zero issues after eating here. We will definitely be back the next time we’re in Galena!

Oh. My. Gawd!!!! Ridiculous. The best food I have ever had. Scallops were bomb. Sweet and spicy shrimp appetizer was killer. Risotto was like heaven. Even had GF bread and olive oil. Can not wait to come back. Made my birthday the best. Staff was fabulous too. Atmosphere could use some work but that's not why we came. :)

I had the fresh sea scallops - very good! High quality food options. After I told the waitress of my gluten intolerance she still brought me a salad with croutons. Oops. It had decent GF options - but a little expensive. Unrelated to gluten.. we had a party of 6, and were seated in the center of the room so we could hardly hear each other over everyone in the restaurant.

great food options. make sure to tell the waiter you need gluten free. the salad will have croutons otherwise. they will also grill you a bun so you have bread too. the menu is marked with the gluten free options. I had the cedar planked walleye, chili shrimp and flourless chocolate cake. it was all delicious.

I rarely dine out as I'm highly sensitive (Celiac), and only risk it when I travel and am sick of the apples and nut bars I lug around with me. I did dine here and am not sick at all (so thankful!). The food was delicious, atmosphere was great, though a bit pricey for the area I feel. They did have a half off bottles of wine special (wine is GF thank god!). Definitely a good option if looking for GF in Galena!

Very good. Had the shrimp ravioli and chocolate cake. the bread was just an udi bun grilled but at least they made an effort.

Amazing!! The food was great. The gluten free bread was very good. I had scallops with risotto which was wonderful. Many gluten free options on the menu. Had flourless chocolate cake for dessert. And for a bonus Wednesday house wines for $3.00 a glass.
