Many gluten free options (almost the entire menu), and food allergy safe. Staff is knowledgeable about allergies and can talk you through the menu, and the alternative ingredients that they use. If you make them aware that you have an allergy, they mark the ticket and pull out new pans/etc to prepare your food.

I had the fried chicken sandwich, which they substituted the bun with a gluten free bao bun. Overall the food was good. The bao bun was a bit sticky compared to a normal bun.

We had a great experience here! My wife is gluten-free and also allergic to soy. We read about the many gluten-free options here and had hope. When we arrived, Sampson greeted us and talked to us about the menu and we could tell right away he was very knowledgeable about gluten free and other allergy needs, in fact he explained they built their restaurant and processes around not using gluten. There are a few items that use it, but not many (and he was very clear on what these were) and they don’t fry anything with gluten. Got that? Anything fried is gluten-free!!! They do use soy in their oil, but they are able to setup a pan fry with non-soy oil if you call ahead or are willing to wait a little longer for the prep. We got Fish and Chips (with fresh tuna), steak nachos (corn chips fried in the non-soy oil, delicious!), and a burger with a rice based thick pancake as a bun (also delicious). Would highly recommend!

Wonderful service and knowledgeable about celiac. Assured me they would cook my food separately and all of the fries are GF bc they don’t cook anything with gluten in the fryers. Delicious burger with the bao bun. Great atmosphere.

The best meal we had the entire stay!! Everything is GF except buns, sausage ,carnitas (cooked in beer) and noodles. You can get fish n chips by ordering the fresh catch fried and a side of fries! Get the bang bang sauce as a side! Oh and the Nachos are what dreams are made of. Gluten husband loved the Philly! A really great lively open aor bar atmosphere! My only complaint was the mojito had no flavor but who cares when you can get fried food!!. Please go and support them so they stay open!!

Wow. For bar food, this was terrific. The staff is well versed in celiac protocols and we had a great time. Several types of chicken wings, hamburgers and lettuce wrapped fish tacos. Two members of our party with Celiac and no problems.

Finally found GF safe Loco Moco....tried several places that said they could make it GF but they would leave the gravy off. Not here the gravy is GF too! Wait staff and cooks very knowledgeable with gluten issues. We also had the nachos and breaded wings. I have not had breaded fried chicken since celiac diagnosis. Found our new favorite GF spot!

First time having fried wings in a LONG time! The server was great and even marked every entree as celiac so that I would feel safe. Very yummy wings and fries that hit the spot! Would definitely recommend for anyone that is super sensitive and wants some safe food.

This was definitely my favorite restaurant we visited with how many options were available and how safe it was to eat. Staff are highly knowledgeable and kind, and everything is safe to eat except for the burger buns. The fryers are dedicated gluten free, and you can have fried fish! I had the catch of the day fried, with a side of fries (Yay, I could finally eat a side of fries instead of a side salad lol). It was delicious, great portions, no sickness, immense options… highly highly recommend. Completely celiac safe!

A real gem on the South Side! Friendly Waves is nearly all gf — everything but the buns, ramen noodles and some third thing we can’t remember. Their staff is very knowledgable about cross-contamination. We had the fresh catch of the day and poke bowls, along with sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious. And the breeze flowing in on the second story was also quite nice.

Lots of gluten free items on the menu. Sports bar type of atmosphere with open air seating located in a newer plaza. The menu concept is a little odd but I enjoyed the pork adobo I got.

We ate here twice during our 8 day stay, I had the pork nachos the first time & a fried chicken sandwich w/o a bun the 2nd and both dishes were fantastic! They don’t offer gluten free buns, but I didn’t feel like I was missing anything just eating fried chicken & French fries with their delicious pop’s BBQ sauce. My husband had wings & the gluten bun with the fried chicken sandwich and left equally satisfied. A must stop if you’re staying in or visiting Koloa/Poipu!

Such a great experience! They use soybean oil to fry and the cook pan fried corn chips in vegetable oil so I could still have nachos! I have never had a place go so above and beyond! Only things not gluten free are the buns and tortillas according to the menu!

We ate here 3 times during our stay in Sept 2023. Highly recommend, felt very safe eating here! I had fried chicken wings, fried chicken sandwich with savory pancake for the bun, and Ahi Nachos. A must stop if you are GF in Kauai!

Amazing!!! Food was probably the best we have had in some time. Breaded wings were a treat to have. The nachos are excellent, we had the poke and carnitas and were quite impressed. Kids meals are large, and you can order them for any age.

I was very impressed with this spot. Everything on the menu is gf besides buns and noodles. They have crispy chicken that is gf and it is delicious! I will definitely be back. This was definitely a place we felt safe and could relax and just enjoy the meal. Very sweet staff that go above and beyond to get the order right. Nearly the entire menu is gluten free and the bao bun for the burgers was amazing. Our 9yo with celiac was so happy.

Everything is gluten-free except the buns for burgers/sandwiches. Tried the nachos, chicken wings, burgers and FRIED CHICKEN!! Yes fried chicken! I haven’t had it since being diagnosed 20+ years ago. Everything was tasty. I ate here several times on vacation with no adverse reactions. To top it off, the service was super friendly and great. I love restaurants like this one where the wait staff “tag-teams” and the assigned waiter/waitress is not the only one checking if all is ok, filling the water glass, etc. Highly recommended.

This is a new place where everything (food wise) is GF except the typical burger bun and they have a bao bun pancake they use for sandwiches. The fried chicken, the fries, the sweet potato fries, chicken wings, the nachos, etc....all GF. And very tasty. We ate here multiple times and will definitely be back next time I'm on island.
