Long story... They DO offer gluten free options.... although I don't feel that they explained their process thoroughly, nor did I feel that they tried to help me understand.
When ordering gluten free, they cook it in the back using Tamari sauce. Originally the waitress made it seem like they could do it on the grill in front of us when I mentioned that cross-contamination isn't a problem. Unfortunately, the waitress didn't tell the grill cook that I couldn't have the chicken teriyaki sauce, who put the chicken on my plate without warning. BecThe waitress did not inform the cook that I had requested gluten free, and then approached me after I told the cook I couldn't eat the sauce. She confronted and at me saying, "Is there a problem?" I explained that I couldn't consume the product. She replied, "That's why I said we have to cook it in the back." I reminded her that I thought she was originally talking about cross-contamination, and cooking on the same grill but separately was not a problem. We ended on a good note, but I didn't realize that it was a requirement to be cooked in the back.
She must have realized that she was sounding pointed because she apologized and got me a brand new dish at no extra charge. Overall, the food was great. The explanation of gluten-free service was poor. The cook on the line was fantastic. Lots of options and sushi. Huge miscommunication on both our parts. I recommend training on making sure customers understand that it HAS to be cooked in the back for the sake of the cook.

We were excited when we saw the positive reviews on this place. Unfortunately our experience was not good. First off it’s expensive. The price would be ok but the soup, salad, fried rice and yum yum sauce are not gluten free and they offer no alternatives or discounts so you’re not getting what you’re paying for. The worst part though was our son became really sick within 30 minutes of eating. He has been vomiting and having diarrhea. Very sick from being glutened. They made our food in the back but we also had some sushi which we were assured was gluten free but something had gluten in it.

They cooked my hibachi meal in the kitchen and brought it to me when everyone else was getting their meal from the grill. Very knowledgeable.

This is the best place in town - don’t be fooled that it’s in the mall, trust me pick this location over others! Gf soy sauce, soup wasn’t gf and they substituted salad or rice, worked with us on making sure we got a variety (we did the boat). Really great quality. Very impressed.

Such a great place for sushi. The waitress is so helpful in letting you know what is available for gluten free options. They use tamari in a lot of the products instead of regular soy sauce. Delicious sushi.

Outstanding service, knowledgeable in regards to gluten free. The menu is not marked as gluten free, but she knew what she was talking about. My husband had gluten food and he said that the rice tasted old on his sushi and his food was way too salty, but mine was fine, a tich too much tamari, but good all the same.

My first visit here, the owner went over the menu with me item by item to tell me what I can and cannot eat! They are so accommodating and knowledgeable. I’ve never been sick after eating there. Love the sushi and she has Tamari available. I also regularly get the fried rice. Customer service is so great, my husband and I will never stray!!
