They do not have a gluten-free menu. They instruct you ask your server about options. Our server, Richard, was extremely knowledgeable about the gluten-free options on the menu, including the sauces and seasonings for each dish. I had the catch of the day, which was blackened golden tile (a deep-sea fish) topped with Gulf crab meat. It was soooo good! My GF side options were asparagus or baked potato. Richard warned me that the asparagus was bland, and he was right!
One thing to note: your food may be brought out by someone other than your server. Mine came out with sauce on the side (in metal cups) that I didn't recognize from Richard's description of the dish, so to be safe, I didn't use it. (The fish was perfect the way it came anyway.)
Gaidos is a Galveston tradition, opening in 1911. They are right on the Seawall, and if you're lucky, you'll get a seat by the window like we did.
