Geddy's

Overpriced and mediocre. We ordered a GF lobster roll. It did not taste fresh and was bland and dry. I had a stomache ache afterwards and felt nauseous, and am currently writing this and feeling so. My partner also developed a bit of a stomach ache. The food was definitely not fresh, or was undercooked. At least my celiac partner and I didn't get glutened. The atmosphere and service was good, however, to our dissapointment, the experience did not live up to the great reviews. We will not be returning.

Delicious GF pizza, and we also got the clam chowder and brussel sprouts. 10 out of 10! I'm not officially diagnosed Celiac however I have very sensitive and was fine!

Had an incredible lobster pizza! Even the non GF friends I was with agreed my dish was better than theirs. :) Most of their menu is GF and they knew to bake the pizza on a tin to avoid cc. Didn’t get sick.

After a worthy wait, our waitress helped up pick out some of the gluten free options. I went with a gluten free roll with the bacon jalapeño lobster roll. For a side, I upgraded to the sweet potato fries and house made cranberry ketchup. The fries are cooked in a separate frier, and the ketchup surprisingly stole the show! There was a seasonal cider called Downeast Pumpkin, which I highly recommend.

No GF menu, but the server was able to explain GF options and steps they take to avoid cc. The fryer is GF. Had the lobster roll on a GF bun with sweet potato fries and clam chowder. The GF bun was okay but kind of crumbly and dry.

Delicious experience at Geddy's. We had lunch there and was able to eat fried fish and chips. What a treat! The fish was lightly breaded and not greasy at all. It was a huge piece of fish. The fryer is dedicated so no cross contamination. I also enjoyed a local cider called Downeast. It was a fun place to eat

All menu items are fried in rice and corn, so all fried food is GF! They do have glutenous bread and pizza, so that would be a cross-contamination concern, but they do offer GF buns and pizza crust. Very good! I had fried fish (fish and chips) for the first time in 5+ years!

I was extremely pleased with my experience at this restaurant. The host and the wait staff both (separately) confirmed that their fryers are gluten free and that most of their menu could be adapted for me. I ordered the Mini Lobster Bake (?) which included a bowl of GF clam chowder, a lobster roll with a GF bun, and French fries. The clam chowder was delicious. The lobster roll was good but sometimes the GF bun can overwhelm the stuffing so when I ate just some lobster from the roll, it was delicious. And the fries were good. If I were to do it again, I’d probably just order the lobster roll without the bun.

I was skeptical because it is a very busy place. But wait staff - specifically Ashley and Colby made me feel secure that the kitchen has practices to avoid cross contamination. I read all the positive reviews on Find My GF and saw the impressive GF menu that we went to Geddy’s for dinner. I ordered the grilled haddock, jasmine rice, carrots and green beans with the lemon buerre blanc sauce on the side which was very good. My husband got the GF breaded haddock fish and chips and really liked it. The tartar sauce was unique with capers. My husband got the blueberry pie ( I picked out a few blueberries and it was good) and I ordered the GF flourless chocolate torte which was excellent. We would definitely go back to Geddy’s.

We tried to go here after a visit to the College of the Atlantic in early August, and there was absolutely no parking anywhere in the area, not even at quite a walk away. The whole town is swarmed with tourists in the summer, so if you are just driving through, do not plan to be able to eat GF while you are in town. As we had come from CT, this meant a very long drive home with no food except the produce we had gotten at the grocery store after our failed attempt to eat at Geddy's. Not much else that was GF showed up on the map en route home. Just want to post this because I know how much planning we celiac have to do to stay safe while traveling, and if you count on something and it doesn’t work out, it can be really hard to come up with a plan B. It is not like we can just head to the nearest Dunkin Donuts. I want to warn others so they don't end up in the same situation we did.

While public parking can be a challenge in August, it usually isn't an obstacle to dining with us. They have a huge selection of gluten free options. They had a clam chowder that was amazing. Such a treat since normal chowder isn’t gluten free. Most of their menu is gluten free. Staff was very helpful. I highly recommend them.

We normally only eat at dedicated GF restaurants, so we were apprehensive about eating here. Cross-contact is a huge concern for my daughter, who is a very sensitive celiac. She ordered the fish & chips and she did not get sick! We would go back! My suggestion to the owner: if the menu is already 98% gluten free, go ahead and make it 100% gluten free. 😊

We had a great time at Geddy’s for a late lunch! After exploring Acadia, it was a treat for our celiac kiddo to have their favorite meal of GF chicken tenders and fries. The fried haddock was also GF and delicious. Some kids meals also come out on a frisbee, which was fun for them. Right as we came in, there was a sign acknowledging celiac and sharing that many things on the menu were GF. Our server was kind and knowledgeable about celiac as well. We did ask if GF mac and cheese was possible, but it wasn’t. Still, would happily recommend it for anyone looking for GF fried food.

My celiac kiddo really enjoyed the fish and chips! I was a little nervous because I wasn’t sure how much the waitress understood about celiac. She wasn’t very engaging, I’ll admit it was a very busy night, and just said she’d make a note of it and that was it. He was totally fine and really enjoyed his meal. Maybe next time we come Gedsy’s will have more gf dessert options!

Had a great waiter who helped me navigate what I wanted to get to make sure I’d be safe. Did the bar burger (they use impossible ‘meat’) with fries. Opted out of the bun because was unsure how it would be toasted. It was delish! I asked them to make the burger in a pan instead of the grill and they did. Didn’t get sick

Great food! You know you’ve found the right spot when they have a gluten-free sign outside and a table tent that mentions Celiac inside! Everything is breaded in rice and something else gluten free so you don’t have to worry about separate fryers (and they even have dessert)

Do not miss Geddy’s!! Fabulous/safe GF food and atmosphere. We ate here multiple times while in BH. They really get celiac. Don’t be thrown off by the menu not listing GF as most of it is GF by design and they will mark your order “celiac” for extra safe handling.

Get this, 95% of their menu is able to be made GF! My girls and I had gluten free clam chowder and fish and chips. The waitress told me that one of the owners has a child with Celiac. Since then they have developed an extensive menu for those with gluten issues. They only dredge items in rice flour so the oil was not contaminated for the fries. I highly recommend this option when in Bar Harbor. Be sure to make a reservation 4 or more days in advanced. It is worth it.

Amazing food, almost entire menu is gluten free! Dedicated fryer! My husband said it’s the best fish and chips he has ever had! So good we went back the next night. Kids and adults agree great food, atmosphere and staff! Also love that kids get frisbee’s! Great family place to eat!

Great experience with lots of food that can be prepared gluten free. They actually mention this specifically on the sign outside the restaurant..

It is my son (now 9 years old) that has celiac disease and he was happy. No complaints afterwards.

They have a sign at the entrance asking about allergies and Celiac! The host answered all my questions regarding cross contact precautions and took our carry out order. We had our dog with us, so we decided to eat at the harbor on a bench.

They can make almost everything gf on the menu! My daughter had a buttermilk ranch chicken sandwich on a gf bun and said it was wonderful. She hasn't had anything like it before. My other daughter had the gf pizza and said it was amazing. Our two Celiac girls and our 3 non Celiac peeps were happy with the food and service. Definitely a safe place for us.

We had a great dinner and my Celiac daughter and husband were thrilled to be able to eat the fried calamari and chowder. It was so nice that ALL the fried food was gluten free, so we didn’t have to wonder about cross contamination! Our server was very nice and helpful.

I’ve been here many times. This is the place you want to go if you have celiac. Almost all menu items can be prepared gf. They have a dedicated fryer and even gluten free breading! I recently got their gluten free pizza crust and it was so good! I highly recommend this if you’re looking for a good pizza option, and they do takeout also!!

Geddy’s was a great find. Our server, Abby, knew her menu in and out and was super careful to get our order just right. Everything that goes in the frier is gluten free - from the fish and chips to the chicken tenders. The gluten free pizza crust is home made in-house and was incredible! They have even gluten free tortes on the menu for dessert. Something for everyone. The food was SO good. Would definitely come back.
