Arrived after reading reviews to try this place while traveling through Hays. Asked hostess who knew nothing & deferred to kitchen. Asked kitchen and was told very few items GF on menu. Next asked hostess about prep area. She asked the kitchen & was told all prep is shared but wiped down between meals as general practice. We could see the kitchen & person she asked who looked bored. We didn’t get a warm fuzzy & left. Felt like they didn’t want to deal with GF.

I ordered the salmon and the server said this was one item that didn’t need modifications. She double checked though. Food was great and I felt comfortable eating here.

If you know what to get, I never have an issue with Gella’s. This was my favorite restaurant before I was diagnosed in 2018 and it is still my favorite restaurant!

This is tough to rate. This place is not celiac safe. Props to my waitress who let me know they do not have a dedicated fryer or prep space. The fries say gf but obviously not celiac safe with no dedicated fryer, she also told me not to get the mashed potatoes either. Got a side salad with gf raspberry vinaigrette. I must say tho that the steak and mushrooms were insanely delicious! hence the 4 stars.

Great food! German cuisine, but plenty of GF options. We didn’t have anything that wasn’t good. Everything our table ordered was fantastic, from the kids menu to the beer, to the dessert.

Had the Salmon ( not many options to choose from). It was tastey! I’m not sure if it was spices or salt- but it did taste salty. The white beans reminded me of the ham a beans of school days-but tastier!

I recieved exceptional care from my server Tori. There is Pesto Chicken with fresh garden vegetables, Steak, and of course salads as gluten free options. My vegetables WERE fresh ( red potatoes, zucchini and summer squash with no spices to worry about. It was good food and an excellent waitress. While traveling on interstate 70 it is often hard to get away from the fast food chains and enjoy a full meal gluten free.

I’ve eaten here three times during the past four years while traveling through Kansas on I-70. Well worth the short detour off the interstate. The staff is very friendly and seemed knowledgeable. Excellent ribeye, mashed potatoes, and creamed spinach. I’m very sensitive to gluten, and have had no problems. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Cool vibe, but not gluten friendly at all. Literally 4 things on the menu gf and two of them are salads. They're knowledgeable which is a plus, but I'm sorry I stopped here.

The food was 5 stars but they have limited options for meals and only the vinaigrette salad dressings. I wasn't expecting much from a tap house out on the Prarie. Gella's exceeded our expectations for freshness and taste.

I went with the Cobb salad and lemon vinaigrette. I normally get balsamic but the lemon was bright and light with the freshness of the salad. The salad had a generous amount of greens, chicken, blue cheese and bacon. Could have used more tomatoes. I wasn't expecting avacado and it was fresh too!

My non-celiac wife loved the goddess dressing on her side salad. She had a turkey club on whole wheat. She loved it. It was fresh. She said the bread was fantastic.

I had to know Gella's a star for not having gluten free beer. Also, I'd like to see them mark some of their burgers as gluten free if you hold the bun. Or add more gluten free options to the menu.

Now that we live in east kansas, we'll be travelling back and forth to see family in colorado. we plan to stop again next trip

No separate GF menu, but GF options noted on regular menu. Chicken, steak, salmon and a couple salads. Great food. No gluten free beer.
