This is the real deal. We hamburgers on gf toasted bread and fries cooked in a dedicated fryer. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. There is lots of parking a rarity in New Bern.

Had a great breakfast here! The server mentioned that the owner has Celiac. They have a dedicated fryer and the deep fried home fries are amazing! I had eggs, home fries, and ham, and my husband had the GF French toast. Pretty much anything can be made GF. A diner vibe with regulars and a friendly staff. We did not get sick.

The fries were amazing and the GF bread was very good also. Also, asked if I had an allergy. Hope to go back.

This is the only place I can get a gluten free hot hamburger plate. I’ve eaten here many times and never gotten contaminated food.

Such a great little diner! The owner has celiac and most anything on the menu can be made GF. I had the BLT and chili cheese fries - SOOOO good! They have a separate fryer for their fries. We’re traveling here, and I wish I had a place like this closer to home.

First of all, as a retired police officer I appreciated the salute to first responders inside the restaurant. ❤ I was traveling through town and wanted to try this place. I had planned on eating inside but it was SO HOT inside that I got my food to go and ate in the car. They have heating and cooling issues and are trying to get it fixed.
I got a club sandwich with fries. I was reassured that the fries were safe and fried in a separate fryer. I was also told that the owner’s wife has celiac and eats the fries so I felt safe. The sandwich bread was good and not microscopically small like a lot of GF bread. The turkey and ham on the sandwich was meh. Seemed like the off brand sandwich meat you get out of the refrigerated section at the grocery store. Especially the 1 very small piece of ham. There were 2 slices of turkey. The bacon was crispy and yummy. Shredded lettuce which always takes it up a notch and good mayo. Needed to be cut in half to eat more easily but that’s being picky. The fries were fast food style and fresh. No salt though but that’s ok cause I added some.
All in all it was “ok”. I give it an A for effort because of the effort for gluten free. I would probably try it again but maybe a burger. They don’t have GF buns so the burgers are served on sandwich bread. They also have GF brown gravy. Didn’t try this but also a nice addition.

THE ADDRESS POSTED IS WRONG. It moved down the street but it’s still in business. The sandwich is fine and GF. The grits are not GF abut the waitress was very clued in to allergies. Kind of bland but it was a good breakfast sandwich and very reasonably priced.

Had a cheeseburger with gluten free bread and French fries. The owner’s wife has Celiac disease and I was told that the french fries have their own fryer. The food was delicious and I plan on going back.

Had dinner here our first night in New Bern. The server agreed right away when I asked about GF substitutes and said yes, the owner’s wife has celiac. Said they usually had GF burger buns, hot dog buns and bread options. Reassured me that there is a separate fryer for the French fries. She wasn’t 100% sure about the tater tots and never got back to us. I had the BLT with GF white bread and fries. Very good! Simple but hit the spot! I was a little nervous about cross-contamination but did not get sick. Just had very mild joint pain the next AM which also comes from dairy exposure.

I was extremely skeptical when we walked into this restaurant because these small town diner places aren’t usually as accommodating for gf needs but I was so so impressed we will definitely be going back. The owners wife has celiac and pretty much any sandwhich or burger on the menu can be made GF. The fries are cooked in a separate frier so I got the BLT and fries which was SUCH a treat! If you are in New Bern this is a great place for lunch.

Very affordable diner type restaurant with great comfort food offerings. They have daily specials and one of them is always a GF option.
The owners wife is celiac so they take their gluten free offerings very seriously. They have ways to make most everything gf even their specials! Much is marked but easier to just talk to the server. French fries were a real treat!!!!
