Excellent understanding of celiac. We had the fried dough, mozarella sticks, egg and toast, and calzone. All was amazing and we had no issues afterwards. Decor is a bit dated. Service was excellent. Food even warmed up well the next day which is rare for GF.

So fun to have choices!! Almost too many choices. I felt like a kid in a candy store and wanted one of everything!! I ordered a calzone and the owner made the dough from scratch for my order. It was pretty good - not like dough from an Italian pizza place but it was tasty and satisfied the craving. Last time I was here I ordered a cheeseburger club and onion rings. Delicious. Definitely worth a trip

We went there last night! Donna you will remember Jack, Mark, Jan, Linda , Gary and Joyce! Lol. We had such a great experience. Our waitress Donna was so much fun and careful with my meal. I had a patty melt with fries. It was delicious! Haven’t had one in years! The menu is huge. Already sent the menu to my also celiac sister I was that impressed! ( she lives in CT I live in FL) we will definitely be back and hope Donna is working to wait on us!

The gf fried dough was really good by my seafood scampi was inedible. As soon as I put a scallop in my mouth I knew they were very bad. They had a lot of gf options but I won't be back sadly. Had reaction... Not gf

The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. The waitresses husband has celiac so she knew a lot about it. The food was AMAZING! It had been 8 years since I had a calzone. They are better than I remembered!! I didn’t have any symptoms and I am celiac. I will be back!!

Staff was right on it and brought me a gluten free menu and knew exactly what was safe vs cross contaminated. I felt good after, no issues. Gluten free pancakes and toast!

My daughter got very sick after eating here. Same thing happened to at least 2 others I know who have Celiac disease. I’d be cautions. We won’t be back.
No
Huge gluten free menu, dedicated fryer, knowledgeable waitstaff. Even have fried seafood (not clams) and calzones! Food was DELICIOUS! Definitely a place to come to!

Used to be 5 stars... when visiting my family, I always ordered from this place. Last time, the food was 1 hour and 45 mins late, the food was soggy, multiple parts of my order were missing. I called for a refund, and the woman was super nice, told me call back when I had time (I was super hungry after waiting). Called back a couple days later (had family visiting, a reunion, etc) and then she was busy. Told me she’d call me back and never heard from her again. Def won’t be going here anymore! For food, pizza is about the only good option (one of the best out there!!) but other options (such as chicken cutlets) are subpar.
Found this on the app. Great food, huge portions and great service. Will be going back again when I am out that way. Looking forward to going their for lunch.
Drove over an hour for this place and I wasn’t disappointed. The calzones are great and so are mozzarella sticks. Remember there is regular gluten items on the menu so cross contamination can happen . I felt kinda sick after eating there but it could of been anything
Great staff! And the gluten free food is off the charts! Highly recommend it! Yum yum!

Loads of options. Won’t be disappointed

Note: I have Celiac’s disease. Here is my take:
I have a had many great meals and a few terrible meals from this place. I used to love eating here, then one night, I got super sick. I hadn’t eaten anything else that might contain gluten, but I doubted that I’d get sick from this place since I had numerous meals without any issue. I had another good meal here, so I let it go. Then, it happened again! I hadn’t felt that sick in years! I am never going to this place again. If you have Celiac’s, I recommend you try somewhere else. If you have an intolerance, this place might work out for you. However, be warned.
That being said, the Green Olive has a huge gluten-free menu, and their food tends to be very tasty. They bake their own pizza dough, bread, and wraps in a separate oven. There is a dedicated gluten-free fryer, and gluten-free meals are (allegedly) prepared in a different prep area. Perhaps I got sick from something cooked incorrectly; perhaps they might not be as careful as they used to be.
I hope that my review is helpful to you, the reader.

The food is always tasty, but if you order delivery or takeout something is usually messed up in the order. Edit: I called after they made an error and was told by a nice enough woman that her boss wouldn't do anything for me. She apologized profusely, but I will never order from here again.

Large GF menu with a variety to choose from. Service was quick and pleasant. It is a Diner so it is your typical Diner food but it is very good and they take GF seriously.
I'm not celiac, but am allergic to wheat. Finding wheat free options has become a lot easier since the early 80's, but this is the first time I've had a wheat free calzone. It was very yummy, and the delivery person got it to us while it was still piping hot. I've had their gf pancakes twice as well, and loved them. I wish I could take them back to Portland with me...
Two GF diners with celiac. had stromboli and a calzone. They were ok, similar to what I make at home. neither of us were thrilled. Price was high.
Best GF pizza we have tried to date!! Their chef makes his own GF dough in a dedicated GF kitchen 👍 plus many GF option like chicken fingers, mozz sticks, bread for sandwiches and burgers too. Being GF 4life, we trust G.O.D. to always serve us great quality GF foods.
Great breakfast, many dedicated GF menu, friendly fast service. Amazing gyro of letters!

I have had great experiences here! I have had breakfast: pancakes...eggs with gf bread...cheese calzone (unbelievable)...stuffed peppers and stuffed cabbage...eggplant parm...mozzarella sticks...fried calamari! The staff is knowledgeable and patient!
Heaven! I've eaten here more times than I can count and everything is to die for. A good friend and my mother have Celiac and this is our go to place! The waitresses are wonderful and I've never had any issues...I'm very sensitive. The mozz sticks and chicken tenders are so good, and the calzone (yes, calzone!) is fantastic.
Very celiac friendly and knowledgeable! The waitress was so nice even though I always ask a million questions. Just about everything on the menu can be made gluten free with the exception of grinders. They even have gf fried seafood, which I've been searching for for about 5 years now. The portions are big and prices are decent. I've eaten here multiple times without any issues
My 3 yr old daughter and I have celiac. We had the alleged gluten free pancakes, fries, cheeseburger and hash browns. My daughter has been projectile vomiting since we got home.

Gluten free items that you usually do not find , Stromboli, calzone, eggplant parm. Separate menu.
Delicious homemade mozzarella sticks! Huge portions, friendly place. The waitress assured me that they take caution for cross-contamination.

Prices are pretty high for a diner, that's why I gave 4 stars. We ordered take-out, my husband got a "regular" item, I got gluten-free - the Chicken Parm over Spaghetti, to be exact. Despite it being $20, it was more than a meal. 2 or 3 breaded chicken cutlets, probably half a pound of melted cheese on top, all done in a takeout container the size of a dinner plate. Good sauce, good chicken. I would order it again.
What I CANNOT recommend is the gluten-free "cheesecake". Please don't waste your $7 on it. It's pretty awful. I've had better cheesecake from a box mix (Jello). I would be surprised if there even was any cream cheese in it. Not even homemade strawberry-rhubarb compote could save it. Tiny slice, terrible taste, not worth it at all. Given the price of their other GF desserts, I'd say avoid and get yourself something sweet elsewhere. If you're early enough, you can stop in to Healthy Harvest behind them (they close at 6 I think) and pickup a homemade dessert there.

Calzone, pizza, sandwiches, pancakes--it's all very good. I'm very sensitive and have never had any issues.

I had fried shrimp for the first time in years. ALL their fried foods are cooked in separate oil. The owner came over to our table twice. My non GF friends also enjoyed their meals.
Yes
Friendly waitress, really good GF mashed potato, bacon and garlic pizza. They even gave me a separate pizza server. Would visit again!
Always get sick I will no longer go or order from there. I have celiac and the waitresses do not even know about celiac. I think it's just to get more business but if you don't want to be sick. I suggest to not go.
No
The pizza is very good you won't even know it is gluten free...the waitress we had was very compassionate to my specialty food needs and made sure it was prepared safely. I did have pancakes here once before...gluten free...and they didn't taste wonderful. I can't wait to try many more of their other gf options. and the pizza dough is made fresh there and they can do small..med . large which is rare for gf pizza
Yes
The very Best pizza and calzones. Home made dough. The owners truly understand!!!
Went there with my wife and she was really looking forward to having gluten free fried shrimp and chicken fingers as most gluten free restaurants do not offer these. When we asked if they had a dedicated fryer they said no, they cook the gluten free items in the same oil as everything else!!!
Do not even know what to say about that other than if my mother in law had eaten here (celiac runs in my wife's family) she could have wound up in the hospital as she is very sensitive. Do not claim to specialize in food allergies if you have no idea what that entails.

Best gf pizza I've had- anywhere. As a transplanted New Yorker it's been a tough thing for me to have to give up pizza and now I have found my slice of heaven! Service was great! They have a huge gf menu. Loved it.
Awesome! First time I've had fried shrimp in a decade! So many options. Going back soon!
Excellent food and service!
This has become my little piece of heaven! TONS of gf options, sandwiches, waffles, pancakes, pizza, pasta, calzones and desserts!!!! Plus very friendly and knowledgable staff. I had the gf calzone and it was amazing!!!! Must try!
Homemade GF dough for pizza or calzones. Also carry udi's gluten free bread to make any sandwich or toast. GF batter for pancakes and waffles. Lots of choices and everything is good!
the calzone was incredible. They do make their own dough. They also have GF buns, pizza, chicken parm, meatballs and pancakes. Well worth the trip! Very reasonable price, and I brought half the calzone home in a doggy bag.
went for the first time last week. we got the GF calzone and was amazing! ! can't wait to try the gf pizza. I was told that it is fresh gf dough pizza....ya that's right fresh gf dough pizza!
Huge menu! Delicious gluten free calzones!! Amazing!!!

We were visiting my husband's family in Meriden and found this place. Fantastic breakfast location! My kids were in heaven--they all got GF chocolate chip pancakes. If you have GF kids, you know what a blessing it is to find a great GF breakfast spot. We will definitely be back. This diner is worth the drive (and fantastic service too!)
