We went for brunch. The people that had the pancakes did not like them. I couldn't find anything gluten free on the menu. I ended up getting a salad. Why advertise gluten free if you don't have any options?

Safe but if you’re not used to oily food, don’t go. My husband and I have gotten sick twice.

Knowledgeable staff. Was told that if an item is marked GF, there is no concern for cross contamination.
I had the deviled eggs, crispy tofu and chocolate cake. Did not get sick.

This restaurant has an extremely large selection of gluten free options. The food is delicious and the wait staff is knowledgeable (my waitress had a gluten allergy). I feel very safe eating here.

I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease over 13 years ago. Aside from making GF fried chicken at home, I've never found it in a restaurant...until I discovered Hamrock's! Talk about amazing GF fried chicken!!! It's the best!

Absolutely charming restaurant in a renovated historic home in Historic Downtown Fairfax City. So many wonderful GF options! I thoroughly enjoyed my seafood stuffed avocados and my husband enjoyed the GF fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. Delicious and worry-free dining in a delightful setting.

I’ve eaten here twice, both times were fantastic. I loved being able to order things like fried chicken and chocolate cake. Both times I think I did the 3-course special, I even brought my mom who also has celiac here. Would recommend for a delicious, safe meal. A little on the pricier side, but good.

omg i’m now obsessed with this place!! most of the menu is fully gluten free, including their iconic gluten free fried chicken with gravy, which i haven’t had since i was diagnosed with celiac, so this was an exciting day haha. their rosemary parmesan fries were so so amazing as well, and the ceasar salad was incredible. i highly suggest- the building/environment was so comfortable, and the staff was so kind and was knowledgeable about gluten free.

OMG the GF fried chicken was one of the best things I've ever had! Our service here was amazing and I loved the vibes of this old house. Even my non-GF aunt loved this and couldn't tell it was GF! Hamrock's has an expansive GF menu and I can't wait to go back one day. However it will be tough to not get the same thing 😉

An excellent GF experience! Ate here twice (celiac) during a 5-day stay & no issues. Had the lobster bisque, fried chicken, pork tenderloin, chocolate cake, and everything was delicious! Staff seems well-trained. Used to be 100% GF & they have separate prep areas. Met another celiac who said they eat there regularly. Highly recommend.

Tasty food, and I have not gotten sick there at all. The menu identifies GF food well, and our server was gluten sensitive and could talk easily about how they prepare food in the kitchen. Nice atmosphere too.

We were so pleased to find so many gluten-free options on the menu. They have dedicated GF kitchen space including a dedicated GF fryer. I haven’t had southern fried chicken in 10 years! It was amazing, with GF gravy & mashed potatoes to boot. We will definitely be back.

The food was AMAZING, and I didn’t get sick after. The waitress is also gf and she knew the menu and what was safe well. I had the fried chicken, and it was better than any gluten chicken I ever had previously. It’s rare that chicken breast doesn’t come dry, yet this was very moist. The gravy was delicious, too. The only knock I have is that we tried twice before to come in and they said they couldn’t seat us, that there were tons of reservations coming in soon. Only, we were able to get a reservation for a few minutes later on the second try. They seem to have a “no walk-in” policy, and they lie to you about it at the door.

I ordered the fried chicken after reading a review on this site about it. It exceeded expectations! And that is saying something since I was raised in the south. We are already planning to come back because there are so many good options on the menu!

Fantastic gluten free options! When I told our server I had celiac, she responded very knowledgeably and seemed to be used to serving people with celiac. She mentioned that the gluten free meals were made in a separate kitchen. The food was excellent with lots of options, and they even had a gluten free beer! The atmosphere is really neat too — the restaurant is in an old home. Lots of seating indoors and outdoors. I’m definitely going back here!

This place is amazing. I live 3 1/2 hours away and I found it on the Find Me Gluten Free App. We ate here in September 2020 and it was delicious. I recently planned an overnight stop nearby just to eat here again. Amazing again. Everything marked gf on menu is prepared safely. The quality of the food is outstanding. We will be back.

We went to Hamrock's last Sunday for their Lobster Night and they had lots of gf options, just not listed on their menu. My husband and I both had wonderful gf meals but I'm the only Celiac. My husband had the Tomato Caprese salad, the Maine Lobster and Flourless Chocolate Delight Cake, while I had the Lobster Bisque and the Chesapeake Crab Cake (which was phenomenal) with the Flourless Chocolate Delight Cake. My husband was raised by his Italian grandmother who was a phenomenal cook and he has never found a better crab cake than the one she used to make, he took a bite of mine and said it was just as good as hers. He has also tried crab cakes at a few other places in the area, including Annapolis but was disappointed at those other places.

The chef will come out and walk you through their whole process to avoid cross contamination. They have a whole separate kitchen area dedicated to gluten free including fryers.
Almost every item on the menu is GF! They even have cake! The only item I’ve had that was mediocre was the fried chicken. Everything else has been fantastic! Especially the shrimp stuffed crab and French fries!
They also have GF beer.

Tons of gluten free options. Great food. The fried chicken is gluten free and freaking AMAZING. I was told the corn muffins were gluten free only to have a MAJOR episode later so I'm pretty sure our waiter was misinformed.
I loved the fact that almost everything is GF. I had the crab cakes and creme brulee for dessert

Separate kitchen, dedicated fryers, items marked GF are gluten free from the ground up, no substitutions needed. Tastes good too!

Good food and a dedicated GF kitchen. Only thing I don’t like about this place is their bread, it’s awful. Other than that, I love it there.

Absolutely love this place! My friends and I have been going there for the past 2 years and we love it. They have so many gluten feee options because the kitchen is almost completely gluten free. From mini crab cakes, to fried calamari, fried chicken dishes, to bread at the table, and French toast. If you’re in Fairfax you should consider stoping in for a bite.

Dedicated kitchen space and fryer! The staff is very knowledgeable about what is safe and what isn’t. They take extra steps to make me sure I know what their preparation process is. The food is also delicious! I haven’t gotten sick in the past and it’s become a regular restaurant for us.
