Everything but the buns, mac and cheese, and mustard BBQ sauce are gluten-free. I got the pulled pork platter with sweet BBQ sauce, cornbread, collard greens, and Brunswick stew. It’s a family-owned restaurant right off the interstate that is extremely knowledgeable about gluten-free and cross-contact. Even the child in the family was aware of what sauces were gluten-free. There is outdoor seating for summer weather and indoor seating with fireplaces for the winter. Everyone was friendly. I highly recommend it.

This was a great stop. If you are traveling along 77 near Wythville, VA you gotta a stop in and try their food. The beef ribs are amazing and the majority of this menu is Gluten Free. This is a family/veteran owned business. The owner was working the ordering window and was so nice and helpful letting me know what I needed to stay away from.

Traveling through VA on the way to MD, we decided to try High Plains. 1/2 rack of ribs were superb, along with the black eyed peas and Cole slaw. The nachos were just ok, the cheese sauce on the was underwhelming.. We were tempted to try the ice cream but maybe next time!

The food was great! The owner’s wife has had Celiac for 10 years. He was very helpful with choosing GF foods (very little wasn’t GF). He said he makes sure to avoid cross contamination in the kitchen. I had wings, cornbread, and collard greens.

almost everything here is gluten free and one of the employees has celiac so the entire kitchen staff know about cross contamination.

The person preparing our food had Celiac Disease and was very knowledgeable. Everything on the menu is gluten free except the buns, tortillas and mac and cheese. The corn bread is gluten free.

We were traveling home to PA from Charlotte NC. I pulled out my FMGF app to see what we could find in the area. Hight Plains BBQ came up and we'd only driven past the exit a few miles, so we turned around. The reviews were really good. When we arrived, there was a very beautiful lady at the window ready to assist. I had to use the restroom so I ran inside and by the time I had returned, my fiance explained to her about my having Celiac disease and why we chose the place. She recommended a few items she liked, and said everything but one item is gluten free and they are extremely cautious about CC. I had a half rack of ribs and the side of 3 bean salad and the collard greens. The ribs were so good! They had a little kick. My fiance had the brisket and he ate everything in one sitting. I took a good portion of mine home for later and so glad I did! There was a gentleman who checked on us while we were eating and I thought that was very kind. The facility was adorable and extremely clean. The weather was nice, and I wish a bit warmer so we could have dined outside. I am so happy we found this place and will be making it a staple as we travel back to Charlotte next time. Thank you to both of the kind people who helps us that day!

Very knowledgeable of Celiac and GF. Flavorful food - on the spicy side. Only a few of the sides offered were not gluten free. Excellent experience. Great stop off 81!

Owner with celiac took our order & she was fantastic.
