Review

Absolutely divine food! The specialty drinks were a bit small, but tasty and quite alcoholic. I have never written a review before, but between the unparalleled food and the alcohol, I am absolutely compelled…

The menu is pretty much entirely Gluten free - minus the ice cream sandwich. No matter, as I tried a vegan mango pudding for dessert (I also try to avoid much dairy) that I could only describe as happiness. I could not stop thinking about this fantastic mango chia seed pudding after eating it! Also had the Brussels Sprouts, which I’ve tried once at home before, and hated. This time, I was dumbfounded as to how good they were. Don’t ever try them any other way, unless you really know how to make them, but Hola Arepa really, really does.

I also had a specialty shrimp aguachile plate that is available for a limited time. I can’t explain how all of the ingredients made it so good, but after the entire meal, I felt like I should leave my English/Norwegian heritage, and learn more about Venezuela. My wife also very much enjoyed her slow roasted pork arepa. This place and this food is a gem, nothing like you’ve ever had elsewhere in Minnesota, and absolutely worth experiencing, more than once.
