Such a fantastic gluten free experience! They made fresh gluten free bread for me on arrival, and the waitress was immediately able to discuss gluten free options with me. Every dish that was served was delivered with a gentle reminder that it was prepared gluten free. The food, service, and ambiance was excellent!!

Good choices on GF menu. Many fish specials were GF when we went. Also made to order GF buns with olive oil and balsamic dip. So nice!

A treat! The staff is very knowledgeable about celiac and super communicative — with every plate, they would let us know it was, indeed, gluten-free. My partner and I ordered, and quite enjoyed, the ahi poke bowl and the chicken and mushrooms, with the local mixed greens, plus local goat cheese, on the side. Oh! And crème brûlée. Everything was delicious. Two things to note: We skipped the gf bread because it’s made in a shared kitchen, and we’re always cautious about flour flying around. The second thing to note is that the crowd is very old. Sweet spot, but a little geriatric. ❤

Definitely recommend making a reservation if you are looking for a more upscale dining experience, the tables look out to a beautiful garden view. Gluten free bread with oil is available and delicious. We got the BBQ ribs, candied ahi and chocolate raspberry tart. Staff was knowledgeable and very helpful.

Amazing. Would go back again. Hands down my favorite meal while in Hawaii. The waiter was extremely attentive to detail. The dishes were announced as gluten free as they served me. They even had delicious gluten free rosemary (I think) bread.

The restaurant is part of the Wyndham resort and has a nice view!

This was by far the best place we ate in Kauai. Our daughter is a celiac and they took that very seriously. The gluten free rolls were very good and she had their chicken mushroom dinner. Great service and good drinks. We are going again if we can get reservations before we leave😄

Ate here on Dec 29, 2022. As always, the Hukilau did not disappoint! Separate GF menu that has many many choices!

They brought out a freshly baked (still warm) GF bread! I had the Gazpacho and the ribs to start. The chef modified the Mac nut crusted Mahi Mahi to be GF for me! All was delicious! Too stuffed for dessert! Maybe next time!

This restaurant has the best gluten free menu I have ever had. They even had gluten free bread, and it was SO good. My gluten free 6 year old got gluten free pasta with red sauce and he loved it. My husband and I had fish and prime rib that was gluten free as well. The waiter was so knowledgeable. It was a GREAT experience.

One of the best meals we ate during our two weeks in Hawaii. Extremely knowledgeable staff and everyone who helped us out was aware of our situation. We did the tasting menu (offered between 5-5:45) and they already had pre-designated GF alterations to all five courses. They baked fresh GF rolls for my husband that he said were incredible. Overall just a great dining experience made even more special by how attentive they were to celiac!

The service was outstanding, the waiter was knowledgeable about gluten free options. We had the beef medallions with a Crown Royal Demi-glaze, red mashed potatoes, and a Portuguese bean soup. Between 5 and 5:45pm they offer a tasting menu that's $32 w/o wine and $50 with wine! It's a great deal and they already have gluten free modifications built in, you just have to let your server know. As a bonus, they bake their gluten free rolls to order and they're delicious!

The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly! There was a separate GF menu. We got GF fresh bread, which was sooo good! The filet mignon was a dream!

Dining at this restaurant seemed to be safe, our waiter was very helpful and was knowledgeable about the dishes and gluten free options available. I was convinced it was a safe place to eat delicious food. I didn't get sick and very much enjoyed their Candied Fish appetizer... my first experience there was complete heaven, the atmosphere was wonderful!

Now the reason for my 3 stars is because we were convinced this restaurant was well rehearsed with Celiac/gluten allergy protocol. We ordered take out the next day and the salad we ordered contained croutons (which I didn't eat) and I got sick from their Candied Fish appetizer. I should had followed my instinct and not eat anything from there the second time.

So perhaps it's better to stay away from take out and just dine in.

We just had an amazing Christmas dinner here. The prime rib was so tender and juicy. Their gluten free bread was fresh and hot out of the oven. Their gluten free desserts were amazing as well and we actually had two to chose from. Great staff and wonderful service. I would highly recommend it.

I love the fact that they have a good selection of gluten free menu. Their bread was fresh and warm. We all ordered different gf entrees so we all can share and include our celiac daughter to be part of tasting different food. The creme brulee was delicious!! Its more like $$$ so expect to pay at least 150 dollars for a family of four. It was nice to have a really nice dinner

Ask for a separate GF menu when getting seated. The staff knew exactly what we needed with no questions or to big of an explanation and assured us they had a separate gf food prep area. The food was phenomenal! The gf rolls where especially amazing, we ordered a separate round! Although we didn't realize it was a fancy place until walking in all muddied out from a big hike starving. They were super gracious and sat us anyway with no reservation and no problems. Great experience.

Excellent food and service. Wait staff was very knowledgeable of items that contain gluten and how to adapt dishes to accommodate. The gluten free muffin was the best I had on the island, wish I had requested another. My only compliant with this place is that the quality of food does not really match the atmosphere of the restaurant. Interior is a bit run down with bad lightning. Was seated in what appeared to be a tented portion with table facing the plastic tent fabric as opposed to looking out into the restaurant.

An excellent meal, with a knowledgable staff. there is an extensive GF menu. Very good GF bread. I’ll be back next time I’m in Kauai.

I would give this place a 10 star rating if I could. They were very knowledgeable and accommodating to my celiac needs. The food was fantastic! Prime rib with auJus! Yum yum yum. They have a homemade bread that is the best I have ever had.

Amazing! If I could give 6 stars I would. The husband and I went here for a nice dinner and it was by far one of the best fillets we both had! Service is great, separate gluten free menu, they even have some of the best gluten free breads we've had!

If you are looking for a nice place to eat and just enjoy it this is a must rather you're on vacation or a local looking for a nice place to eat.

One of the best meals of our trip - we even ate there twice! Delicious and reasonably priced for the high quality and location. There were many options on a separate GF menu, & all of our food actually came out hot and delicious! They even offer gluten free bread + oil/vinegar (it's not a very good combination, but at least they try). The first time, I had the chicken + mushrooms and the second time I had the filet mignon. My husband had pork tenderloin medallions and then the three fish sampler - all of it was incredibly good! The second time, we ordered the creme brûlée and it was amazing!

My husband and I loved Hukilau Lanai. We went for our fancy honeymoon dinner. Their cocktails were great and the staff was very knowledgeable about ingredients in the food. I got the pineapple gazpacho (has pineapple sorbet -which is perfect for me being dairy free) and my husband got their salad. With mine I ordered the wahoo with red peanut curry sauce on jasmine rice, and my husband ordered the ahi with red chile sauce. We couldn't stop raving about how delicious everything tasted together and how well the fish was cooked. One of the highlights of our trip so far. To end our dinner they brought us a chocolate truffles for a honeymoon gift.
