Best fast food chain allergy protocol!! Order "Protein Style” burger (lettuce wrap) or “Flying Dutchman” (no bun/wrap) & let them know you have a gluten/dairy/ etc allergy! They'll take care of the rest: glove change, separate grill, work station, supplies. Fries are also GF. If you order within a group, they bag the allergy order separately than the rest. But you definitely have to say "allergy" ordering it lettuce wrap is not enough to let them know.

Tasty, cheap, fast, no reaction! That’s a winner!! Ordered a double- lettuce wrapped and fries and had no reaction. Fry fryer is separate, can lettuce wrap any sandwich instead of a bun and the burger sauce is gf as well (it not thousand island)

Despite the high risk of cross contamination at a busy fast-food restaurant, I have never had an issue at this location. If you tell them you have a "gluten allergy", they take excellent care of your order to keep it as safe as possible. My order always comes out a bit late, which is a good sign: it means they're taking extra care and not rushing it.

Order "protein style" to get it wrapped in lettuce
Staff was very knowledgeable, there is a dedicated frier for fries, and they changed gloves and brought mine out in a separate space. She even asked before making it if I wanted the grilled onions, as they were flipped with all the Buns on the grill (so a hard no!) but it was a little thing they paid attention to.

We only order French fries here since we aren't really meat eaters. We've never had contamination issues, even though I often forget to specify GF. Fries are cut fresh, dropped straight into the oil, and scooped into the bag, all on their own side of the kitchen by a dedicated fry person. Risk is present, but pretty low, especially if you ask them to avoid cross contamination.

We had high hopes for in-n-out based on recommendations from others with celiac disease, but we’ve tried it twice now and my daughter, who has celiac disease, has had a bad reaction both times.

My kids all have Celiac disease, and we eat there a lot. They flag the ticket with a "gluten allergy" and the person preparing the food changes gloves. You can get your burgers "protein style" which is wrapped in lettuce, but my kids don't like lettuce, lol. So I just ask for the meat patty, and then we bring our own gf buns. The fries are the only thing cooked in the dryer, and their shakes are gf too!

I’ve never had an issue with this location. It’s nice being able to see them making the food. They do a lettuce wrap (called protein style) and tell them it’s for an allergy and they will be careful.

I have celiac and eat at In N Out all the time! I’ve eaten at many different locations, including this one a few times. It doesn’t ever make me sick. I make sure and say i have a gluten allergy, order protein style hamburger with sauce separate and my fries come on my tray away from other burgers with buns. Love the simple yummy food and atmosphere!
Yes
We have eaten there many times. Never got sick. Always ordered: protein style and asked them to “flag” the order gluten allergy. I did have to remind them to make sure to bag separate from anything else. However, they always have shown an effort to make sure it is right.
Never have gotten sick eating here. Really careful with lettuce wrapped burgers if you tell them it is an allergy.
Yes
eaten there twice, gotten sick twice. not celiac friendly
Not! Not! Not celiac friendly! They put buns on burgers that are on the same grill that they are saying is gluten free. It is not safe for a celiac to eat here.

Have 2 kids with celiac.... and they were always VERY careful with their lettuce wrapped burgers! Never got sick with the many times we went there! They always used a separate grill, clean gloves, separate bagging, etc. They always took it serious. Love In-N-Out!!

Very friendly. Ordered a Double protein style (lettuce wrapped) and a chocolate shake. Mentioned gluten allergy and they were aware of what to do. Very quick, friendly and kept the gluten free order separate from the rest of the order.
Yes
Order "protein style" with no bun, wrapped in crisp lettuce. Surprised there is no gluten free bun. Fryers are dedicated GF. Milk shake was declared GF with no malt flavoring. Went for it. Including ketchup with fries. Did not get glutened!

Great food, great service. The staff is very knowledgable. They change gloves, wrap your burger protein style(lettuce wrapped). The buns they have in store are grilled on a separate grill. Have been there multiple times and will continue to go. Order it Protein Style with Gluten Allergy. Enjoy their fries and shakes as well.

I love this place. I eat here at least once a week, it's one of my safe spots. Always fresh food, and friendly service. You have to let them know to add gluten allergy on your meal. They have special buttons for that and dairy allergy. They'll take special care.

As I ordered they took everything seriously and I felt perfectly fine after eating here. The receipt marks your order as "Gluten Allergy" and the staff has the protocol down (changing gloves, etc.). I always order protein style and no sauce (because of cc) and then ask for the sauce in packets when I'm grabbing my order. Shakes and fries are gluten free and yummy too :) I would recommend ordering separately if with others eating burgers with bun. I ordered separate trays but this location mixed up the orders and put my fries with a friend's burger. I was anxious about cc but luckily didn't end up sick. Easily avoidable if you order separately.

The food is wonderful & I usually eat a protein hamburger with no seasoning or sauce and fries the same way. I let them know a gluten & dairy allergy. I have not been sick.
