Very friendly. Ordered a Double protein style (lettuce wrapped) and a chocolate shake. Mentioned gluten allergy and they were aware of what to do. Very quick, friendly and kept the gluten free order separate from the rest of the order.
Order "protein style" with no bun, wrapped in crisp lettuce. Surprised there is no gluten free bun. Fryers are dedicated GF. Milk shake was declared GF with no malt flavoring. Went for it. Including ketchup with fries. Did not get glutened!
The gal who took our order Makala was very knowledgable about gluten Free it was wonderful food service and very clean and one of the only aces open at 10:30 at night kiddos to in n out burger
Great food, great service. The staff is very knowledgable. They change gloves, wrap your burger protein style(lettuce wrapped). The buns they have in store are grilled on a separate grill. Have been there multiple times and will continue to go. Order it Protein Style with Gluten Allergy. Enjoy their fries and shakes as well.
You really can't beat it. I recommend the double double protein style. For some reason two patties make the protein style better.
This is a tiny pop up location without inside seating and a tiny grill. They did a great job cleaning up the grill for me to ensure my burger was safe. And two different employees checked with me after delivering a great burger and fries. While I didn't get sick, I will likely not return to this location because of the disruption my order caused in their small kitchen, but my lunch was great and much appreciated. I always feel well taken care of at In n Out.
Got double double with no cheese, protein-style and the cashier asked if I had an allergy, and she noted it down and notified the manager as well. No issues!
I have celiac. The fryers are dedicated to fries only and no breaded items. Did not have the burger but asked them to change gloves and place an order of fries in a "to go" bag to make sure nothing else touched it. Fries were good...and I did not get sick. You need to watch what they do but they were accomodating.
I ordered a protein style burger and fries. I told them it was an "allergy" and they noted it and changed their gloves. However, they thousand island dressing they spread on the buns (or lettuce wrap) was the same and possibly contaminated. The fries were undercooked and gross. I did feel sick afterward though I ate at another place earlier in the day and I'm not 100% sure which one it was.
I eat at this particular In-N-Out Burger an average of once a week. I find as long as the staff understands that I am Allergic to gluten and need special handling they get it right. We take my husband's grandchildren there after movie day and when we order I specify that our 2 GF burgers must be on a separate plate from the kid's meals with buns. The manager recognizes me now and when the 4 of us come in he comes to make sure the front counter person does the order correctly. The key here is to make sure the order taker puts the Allergy to Gluten on the order. There is a special button for that.
Order a protein style burger and tell them your issue. They always package my burger separate the rest of the order. We had to wait once so my burger would be prepared on a clean surface. They pay attention! Eaten here several times since diagnosis and never had a problem.
Coming from California, I have a special love for this place. My typical order is a Double-double protein style with grilled onions and a neopolitan shake (a shake with chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry). I've never gotten sick from the food here, and it's delicious.
We have yet to have a problem with In-N-Out and, due to their processes, never have to clarify that we have Celiac. Unfortunately, this location somehow got animal sauce in our food boxes. Not sure if it is gluten free or not, but it makes us rethink eating at this location.
My super sensitive celiac husband has never gotten sick from cross-contamination here. If you have an allergy to anything (gluten, dairy, etc.), just let them know. They change their gloves, clean cooking surfaces, package separately, etc. They are the go-to place for fast reliable gluten-free food. I can't praise them enough for how well they take care of their customers!
I got so sick last time I ate there. the previous time was ok. Even alerting them to my gluten allergy was no help. I got their protein style, which is just a lettuce wrapped burger. The first time I went there I got it was okay and I didn't have any issues, except it was undercooked. That grossed ne out. This time I got sicker than I have in a long time. Their fries are disgusting.
I don't normally frequent this particular location but didn't see the harm in trying it once. Upon ordering I specified several times that this was a gluten allergy and had to be prepared as such. When the order was repeated back he got it right. I was watching the counters where the burgers prepped and the girl did not change gloves nor move to a different station. When picking up the order at the counter I once again asked if they were prepared gluten free and was assured it was. No way this happened since I was watching the whole time. I should also add, no where on the receipts was a gluten allergy stated so I don't fault the line, but the man taking my order. DO NOT EAT HERE. Go down the street and eat at the Truxel location where they take a gluten allergy request seriously.
Always great. Tell them you have a gluten allergy and they take extra care.
I love that they use a separate grill and fryer and mark that it is an allergy on the order receipt so the food handlers keep it separate! I've never had a problem eating here. The only thing that would make it better is a GF bun. ;)
This location is always busy. There is no dine in here. This store does have a walk up window and outdoor seating. If possible, the celiacs should order separate. They kept trying to put the fries in the bag with my wife's bun burger.Only the bun has gluten but they toast the buns and use a spatula for the spread. However, if you tell them you have a wheat allergy or "bun allergy" then they're trained to limit the possibility of CC. Some of the staff doesn't understand celiac or gluten free. They're training calls it a wheat or bun allergy. The burger is a lettuce wrap. I recommend getting the double double because the extra meat and cheese helps with the large lettuce. Also, if you want it as warm as possible don't get tomato. I find the tomato cools it down too much.
I really love this place! I order a 3x3 with French fries and a chocolate shake. Since the patties are kind of small, I need a 3x3 to feel like it is worth it. The fries are completely safe and so is the shake. I eat here once a week. Note: be sure to ask for no spread on your burger and if you are dining with someone else, be sure to get your GF meal in a separate bag. Us Celiacs can never be too careful!
This In n Out will make burgers protein style but they don't take gluten-free seriously. I recently ordered a burger with a bun for my non-GF husband and emphasized it needed to be in a separate bag from the protein style burgers. When they put them in the same bag, I nicely asked them to remake the protein style burgers because eating them could make my kids sick. I told them they couldn't just put the burgers in new bags. Glad that I watched their employee because she listened to what I told her and then I saw her just put the protein style burgers in new bags. The manager did apologize and remake the burgers but we ended up being told to pull out of the drive thru and waited for 15 minutes while they remade them. The manager did give us some vouchers for a future meal, which was nice.
The manager was so helpful and friendly and it was the perfect GF stop when driving LA to Vegas. Ask for your burger "protein style" and it comes wrapped in lettuce leaves. I think it's worth ordering a double patty as otherwise it's not that filling. Tell them you have an allergy and they will take extra care, although they can't always give you a dedicated grill if they are busy. Ate here twice and felt fine!
This place is not safe. I have Celiac Disease and it made me sick. Although I told them several times I didn't want sauce, I just wanted a burger and lettuce, my order was filled incorrectly. Sauce was inside the lettuce and not on the burger so I didn't see it when I double checked that my order was filled correctly. Found it about halfway through, but the damage was already done.
This location is VERY accommodating. Have eaten her numerous times since it opened and have never gotten sick. Order "protein style" burger and tell the server you have an "allergy to gluten". When you tell the cashier/order taker you have an "allergy to gluten," they change their gloves in the food prep area and handle your gf burger differently. The fries are the only thing in the fryer so the French fries are gf and amazing.
I usually have a good experience here. The sauce is GF, but order it in the packets on the side. They use the same knife in the jar for all burgers. The last time I went here, they mistakenly put my burger in a bun. I told them it was supposed to be protein style/GF. I am suspect they took my burger off the bun and wrapped it in lettuce. I was sick shortly after. That being said, that has been my only problem with this location since it opened.
I only ordered the animal fries two different times. With grilled onions. Reacted both times, down for 2+ days. Severely sick. Maybe the grilled onions were cross contaminated. Not going to take the risk to find out
