Best fast food chain allergy protocol!! Order "Protein Style” burger (lettuce wrap) or “Flying Dutchman” (no bun/wrap) & let them know you have a gluten/dairy/ etc allergy! They'll take care of the rest: glove change, separate grill, work station, supplies. Fries are also GF. If you order within a group, they bag the allergy order separately than the rest. But you definitely have to say "allergy" ordering it lettuce wrap is not enough to let them know.

I LOVE eating here! Just inform the person taking your order that you have a gluten allergy & you can see it pop up on the screen. I order my burger “protein style” (lettuce wrap). They will change their gloves & take precautions to keep you safe. The fries and animal style fries are gluten free as well! I have also had their milkshakes with no problems. I have eaten here 100 times & have never been sick. 10/10 would recommend!

Order "protein style" to get it wrapped in lettuce
Watch the screen when your ordering - wait for it to say ***GLUTEN ALLERGY*** If it doesn’t, make sure they add that to your order!
Listed my order under a gluten allergy. I saw the workers change their gloves and they put my food in a separate bag and made sure that it wasn’t cross contaminated. I’ve eaten here many times and at other locations and haven’t gotten sick at all.
Yes
Other locations seem to be significantly better, but despite specifying a gluten allergy when I've ordered I've gotten quite sick 100% of the times I've eaten at this location. They have failed to note the "allergy" on my order after I've specified it at least once, and they have packaged my "gluten-allergy" food in the same bags with buns, etc. I think I'll stick to other locations that seem to understand how to handle gluten sensitivity issues better. I'm writing this review in the middle of the night because I ate dinner here and am now up all night sick.

I've eaten at in n out many times in different states and i've never gotten sick, accept once. I've eaten at this location many times. first time, 6pm-ish, had diarrhea driving all the way home to idaho. May have been dairy (at the time i didn't know i had a casein intolerance) and i really pigged out on animal style fries and a huge milk shake lol. Second time, felt just fine. third time fine. and then most recently last week i ate there twice in one day and felt amazingly fine, however the following morning i had loose stools, so there may have been cross contamination, but no pain or other symptoms so who knows. Everything they make is naturally gf, in fact the only gluten they have in the whole restaurant is the buns, so i trust this place. Say you have a gluten allergy and don't go during rush hour and you should be fine. I love their food, good quality and always friendly service. also one of the only places that serves gf food late. some specialty restaurants close early and when you are from out of town, its pretty nice to have the flexibility.
Yes
I have tried them several time and gotten so sick every time I ate there. The previous time was ok. Even alerting them to my gluten allergy was no help. I got their protein style, which is just a lettuce wrapped burger. Every time I've been there their burger patties were undercooked/raw pink in the middle. That grossed me out and is unsafe. Their fries are disgusting and not crispy at all.

Love in and out! I order with a wheat allergy and get a protein style cheeseburger. The grilled onions are NOT safe for celiacs as they are grilled on the same grill as buns or they use the same spatula or something so I get raw onions every time. They always put mine in a separate bag/tray than my husbands gluten food. I'm so happy I am eat here still
Yes
You have to order without a bun, but other than that you're good, including the fries.
I've been craving and eating these a lot lately! A double double protein style is great. I haven't had any issues.
sometimes I'll get really sick from here other times I'm fine. they grill the buns on the sane grill with the burgers. For me it's not worth the risk.
No
Order protein style meal. Tastes just as good as a regular burger just a little messier because there is no buns to soak up the juices.
5/24 It’s still busy, it’s still clean, and it’s still safe. This place is always busy, but it’s clean and it’s safe.

Tell them you are gluten free and they will note it in the order. Get burgers “protein style” for a lettuce wrap instead of buns. Fries are 100% safe! Never had any issues here, just don’t forget to tell them you have a gluten allergy so they take the necessary precautions for CC

I had heard it would be safe and I was not disappointed. Dedicated fryer for fries. Burger served protein style (lettuce wrapped) and on separate tray from rest of non GF order. Employee verified gluten allergy on fries and burger order. Symptom free and first fries in 4 months!

HUGE shout out to the staff at this establishment today. This was my first dine out experience at fast food since being diagnosed with lupus and celiacs. The young lady at the register quadruple checked my order and also verified with the manager and working staff about it coming through. Then once my order came up the manager stood at the counter until it was picked up telling everyone to keep my order seperate from my son and husbands (non gluten free) order. I felt so incredibly safe and can’t say enough how much that meant to me today. Thank you
