My fault as I didn’t read the complete reviews below. Let me start by saying nothing fried is GF including the fries the order taker claimed are. Although I said “celiac gluten free” several times, the kitchen didn’t understand it meant my food can’t go into their one fryer that also cooks breaded items. I ate several bites before learning my food was potentially cross contaminated by the fryer.

What a find! Decided to try this recently because we were nearby—after several visits, I am on my way to becoming a regular! Have had a wonderful experience every time with no issues. They definitely understand GF preparation. Love the Huevos Rancheros, and they subbed beautifully warmed corn tortillas for the traditional flour tortilla on the side—something not everyone offers. Tried the “Tiegler”most recently—a delightfully crispy potato cake topped with beans, taco meat, lettuce, tomato (and cheese and sour cream if you can have dairy) and your choice of their GF chile—I went for “Christmas.” Fair warning: this was one of the most satisfying meals I have ever had as a Celiac! This one is addictive—you have to try it! Don’t mind the wait if you encounter one, the hardworking staff is friendly and it is obvious that they love what they do.

I have eaten the following dishes without problems: enchiladas (cheese or chicken), and Ironwood spuds. The one cook has indicated to me that their omelettes can be prepared GF, but I haven’t tried them yet.

Tips for getting a gluten-free meal here (for a high sensitive gluten intolerance person): 1) Ask for the gluten-free green chile, not the regular green chile (which has flour in it) 2) Ask them to not warm the corn tortillas in the common fryer 3) Avoid items prepared in the common fryer (e.g., french fries).

The food is tasty and reasonably priced. I eat here when I’m running errands in West ABQ/Rio Rancho.

i’m celiac and they have never done me wrong. all of their potatoes are naturally gf and cooked in soybean oil. they have gf chile too. i order the enchiladas, frito pie, and huevos rancheros often. if you want a mom and pop nm diner experience it doesnt get much more down to earth and delicious than here.
