There weren’t a ton of GF options, but I ordered the Luau Scramble based on the server’s recommendation. I chose the side options of bacon and potatoes, and also ordered a Kona coffee which was great. The server confirmed it was gluten free as-is, and I felt fine afterwards and had no symptoms. I’ll definitely be going back another time before we leave.

Many gluten free options, the fresh fish tacos with corn tortillas were amazing! But the service was not the best at all, unknowledgeable of what exactly gluten free was.

Knowledgeable waitstaff. Lots of GF options. Use GF tamari on poke.

Got glutened and spent the rest of the day vomiting discreetly at a beach. Beautiful view. I got the tacos. My daughter, also a celiac, got the tofu poke bowl and avoided the gluten. I’d skip it.

Knowledgeable staff. Yummy food. Love the Poke which is made with gluten free Tamari. Absolutely delicious. Great tacos (order corn tortillas) and salads. Do wish there were more GF options.

We had delicious ribs and tacos at Island Lava Java! The menu has all gluten free items marked, and the wait staff was very knowledgeable about celiac and what would be safe for us. They took our questions seriously, and even went back to talk to the chef to make sure. We do have silent celiac, so we don’t get symptoms when glutened, but this seems like a safe place. We also had some very tasty drinks while listening to awesome live music. The view and ambiance are amazing here!

We had a really nice dinner here! It’s always hard to find gluten free options at a nicer, touristy restaurant but I was pleasantly surprised. The menus marked “wheat-free” options and there were a couple to choose from. I ended up ordering the black bean tacos and they were as expected. The French fries are prepared in a shared fryer so steer clear of those, but the side salad was pretty good as well. No dessert options other than plain ice cream.
Server was unwilling to even try to accommodate gluten free options. Server also gave me attitude, will never come back.

Waitress was very understanding of my need to be gluten free. She made sure to alert the kitchen and make a note on my order so that no gluten would be added by accident. Had no reaction.
My husband and I ate here a couple of times during our stay in Kailua. The menu has "wheat-free" items and/or substitution options to make them gluten free. We enjoyed the food and I did not have any symptoms after either visit.
Wait staff was not terribly knowledgeable. They alerted the kitchen of my celiac disease. The breakfast potatoes that come with everything are fried at some point, so I made sure to avoid those. I had omelettes here twice without incident.
No Breakfast GF options and clear lack of understanding of gluten. Told me they had egg white omelettes. Bake pastries in kitchen.

Great location on Alii Drive with awesome view of the ocean. Good service. I had the Luau Omelette filled with slow roasted kalua pork, pineapple, onion and cheddar jack cheese. Yum!
They have Gluten Free options and were able to seat is pretty quickly when we were super hungry. Service is a little scattered, but once we ordered, we got food pretty quickly. Overall, good but not amazing food and reasonable enough prices. Nice location, with outdoor seating overlooking the surf. Would come back.
Knowledgeable staff, amazing food. The fish tacos were phenomenal.
This place was beyond amazing! They have gluten free items marked on the menu! The food was delicious and staff was super helpful! You can't beat the view either!! You can also bring your own beer and wine with no corkage fee.
