They have GF fries! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. GF items are marked on the menu, but very few items are marked GF, and when I asked, more things are GF than marked. For example, the spinach berry salad is not marked GF, but when I asked, the server said that was a mistake because it is GF, and she checked to make sure. Also, I did not see fries listed on the menu other than as part of a certain meal that was marked GF, so I asked if I could get some a la carte, and she said yes. In the end, I got the spinach salad with added salmon and a side of fries. It was nice to have an Ivar's meal while visiting Seattle and I did not get sick. I would eat there again.

Wonderful waterfront views! Gluten free options are limited, but safe — I didn’t have any reaction afterwards.

Waiter was amazing a really helped me with the gluten free options. He said that they had limited GF because a lot of the restaurants are having problems getting supplies. I had fresh caught wild Alaskan salmon.

Tasty fish tacos. Menu marked for gf items. Great view of the bay.

Meh. Biggest issue with Ivars is that GF options are the most expensive things on the menu. While friends can chow down on fish and chips for $20, you're limited to Yet Another Salad (TM) or $60 set of crab legs or lobster trail. And GF bread? Nope. Want to bring your own to enjoy with cioppino or steamed clams? NOPE. Against restaurant policy.

So, probably safe, but definitely not "friendly".

No longer have a dedicated fryer. But still have a few gf options.

The menu was marked clearly of what was GF. Staff was helpful and the food was delicious. They also have cider and GF beer.

Great food! Dedicated GF fryers. My son was able to have Frye’s Calamari for the first time in 4years and it was delicious!!! Highly recommend!!!

I had the Coho Salmon which was grilled plain with roasted potatoes and sautéed spinach. I am also dairy free. The waiter was very helpful and the food was good. I felt great afterwards. It is a good location right on the water.

They had a good amount of gluten free options on their menu. Salads, calamari , two chowders, some of the fish dishes. Waiter was not very knowledgeable but the icons were right on the menu and the hostess was very informed.

Nice location...gf fryer.. however if they can do gf fried shrimp why not gf fried fish.....my gf fish tacos were good .... And gf NW fish chowder was good... But not good enough to bring me back to eat here. Staff knew about gf... Short staffed so long wait at table for food.

The staff were knowledgeable and they do have a separate fryer! I’m a really sensitive celiac and had zero issues. The calamari is fantastic!

Would give this zero stars if I could. Server had zero objections to me trying to order fried calamari- which is allegedly gluten free per their menu -even after I asked if it needs anything special or modified for Celiac. I had a brain blast moment shortly after ordering, and asked a different server/kitchen staff if the fryer is separate or a shared one. It’s shared, meaning the calamari is NOT gluten free for a Celiac, is a glorified GF item. If you want something for a Celiac and you’re in Seattle, this is not the place to go, unless you’re prepared to get sick from misinformation concerning your food.

Amazing salmon and great atmosphere! Everything on menu is labeled if it’s gluten free. I’m very sensitive to cross contamination and I felt great after! Definitely want to go back!

The staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Our server was celiac so she shared what she could have including the calamari which was so tasty! Farm to table style food offered and I was very surprised and pleased. Would recommend!

Nice place. Some options for GF. Did not get sick and ate salad and potatoes and seasonal veggies brocolini. They need more non meat options.

They were super accommodating and knew all the possible gf options. I'm very sensitive and did not get sick.

Happy Hours (3pm to close daily) offer the best prices! The House Smoked Salmon and Corn Chowder is gluten free and delicious! I would say that 50% of the items on the menu are gluten free.

Great! Gluten free calamari! Plenty of gluten free selections and they had two chowder options that were also gf. Friendly waiter also.

Excellent!!! And my son that has celiac did very well and did not get sick. And they have added lots of new options since last year when we were here. Server knew lots and told us what was safe! Will be back

Terrible!! I ordered off the GF Menu. And asked the waitress to please put an allergy alert on my order. But still got sick. Plus to top it off the food did not taste good. We were very disappointed especially for the cost.

The host was confident about being able to cook everything GF. Our waiter was a very rude and I don't care about your disease person. Our waiter was too busy to even acknowledge how I was a Celiac, so I opted to order anyways because of the time of night...I stayed away from the chowders and pancetta items due to the previous comments left on this restaurant. The food was very subpar for the price....I did not get cross contaminated, that is why I gave a 3 star rating. I would not go back though due to the poor service and price of food!

I ate here today for lunch. I got the seafood paella which was listed as gluten free. I also got the prawns appetizer also listed as gluten free. Within just a couple hours of eating here I was rushing to the bathroom. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend eating here if you are sensitive to gluten or celiac. It was very tasty and they accommodated us for our dairy intolerance too but u fortunately I got very ill. And I am on vacation. I'm giving it two stars because it did taste good. Otherwise it would only get one star.

The pier restaurant just reopened July 1, after a complete renovation. The food was good, and there were a decent number of items on the menu that could be made gf. In addition, a note on the menu said they could work with you on other items, as well. They worked with me to keep me dairy free on top of the gf. There are actually 2 Ivar's at this location now. One is a walkup outside, order at the window- not gf. The restaurant would have to be more of a 3$$$ price wise. Views of the water and the ferry boats coming in and out are great.

Lots of GF menu options. The smoked salmon and corn chowder, and the fish tacos were both incredible. Also had a GF hamburger with fries from a dedicated fryer for our daughter. Great lunch!
