Good food, plenty of choices and a good service. Jack is familiar with the gluten free diet. They also have a separate fryer for the fries.

Jack was so helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about Celiac disease, and showed me 34 items as options that are gluten free on the menu. They have a dedicated fryer, pots, pans, prep and cooking area. It was great food, and I really appreciated their attention to detail in ensuring my food was safe.

dedicated fryer! fresh sliced french fries. great little find
Waitress helped us really well with menu and which options were convertible to gluten free. Plenty of options. Nice to have a mom and pop country food place with knowledge on gluten free. Thank you, we were just passing through town and appreciated the meal. Update- we stopped here again 3 years later. Still great service! They offered gluten free options without even prompting. When we ordered they ensured to clarify cooking methods for those in our group is sensitive to gluten. Very refreshing they were so knowledgeable.
Jack came over and went over the entire menu with me. He has a dedicated space and a dedicated fryer. My chicken fried steak was delicious. The only substitution was gluten free brown gravy for sausage gravy. So glad we came!

Staff was not particularly friendly. Not sure our waitress ever smiled. Fries were good. Cooked in a dedicated flier. I had a cheeseburger (they only have gf bread, no buns, which was ok.) the reason for only three stars was that even though they tried, I got glutened and felt less than awesome for our trip through New Mexico.
They were very helpful. There were a lot of menu items they could do gluten free. They even have made a special batch of gf fries for my daughter. Even though we didn't need it, they could also accommodate other food allergies.
Yes
They can make a lot of the menu items gluten free. I had the roast beef dinner with gluten free gravy. It was excellent. They even have a. gluten free soup. I have celiacs and had no problem eating here. The rest of my family really enjoyed what they had too.
This restaurant is ok as a last resort but look around for something better first! The salad bar was terrible with very few choices. The salad dressings looked terrible! The steak was good and prepared correctly but the choice of sides was canned vegetables or fried okra - yuck! The clientele was really sketchy making the experience even worse.

This place is amazing. Talk to Jack or Janelle about menu modifications, they were both super helpful and offered so many options (the waitress had less info). The food was great and it was so nice to have their level of attention to detail to allergens. They also make fantastic gf/df chicken vegetable soup that my kids (and I) loved.

What a great place. They knew what they were doing and made sure we got what we needed. This is a safe bet and the owners are delightful.

Wonderfully safe gf! Great place to eat.

food was delicious! :) no specific gluten free menu but almost everything on the menu is or can be made gluten free. best meatloaf I've ever had and they even gave me gf gravy and a slice of bread. There is soup that is gf. :) it was very cheap! no up charge for substitutes on my bread that was gluten free!

Owner was very knowledgable about food allergies. There were over 23 different GF options on the menu. GF bread and gravy were available. Food was great.

The owners are amazing. They get to know everyone and talk to their customers. Jack takes great pride in making dishes that are gluten free. Highly recommend!!

no matter the allergies, I have been very impressed with the knowledge and willingness to cater to my needs.
Not only Celiac friendly but allergy friendly. They understand allergies because the owner has an allergy himself. As for my family both my daughter and I have to steer clear of eggs and gluten and have never had a bad reaction to anything we have eaten there. we love the soup. Soups are made fresh from scratch, including the stock. My step dad is a severe Celiac and will react immediate to any amount of gluten. Brought him to Jack and Janelle's 2 times with no bad reaction either time. My Aunt is severely lactose intolerant. A speck of dairy and she is stuck in the bathroom for hours. She left happy and full with no reaction at all. If you have Celiac or any allergies just tell them what they are and they will take care of you. If you feel more comfortable making sure you talk to the owner than ask for Jack. He's a super nice guy willing to make sure his customers are happy.

Have eaten there many times. They are very knowledgeable about GF and have a wide range of options that are safe. It's good food at good prices that won't make you sick. Make sure that you ask for Jack (tall guy, white blond hair.)

Jack is very knowledgable about Celiac Disease and the necessity for careful preparation processes. Our family all enjoyed a great meal. Two of us have Celiac while two do not. We will be going back for lunch tomorrow before our excursion to Mesa Verde National Park tomorrow.
Jack is great! He explained the menu and our breakfast options. They have dedicated cooking utensils and toaster. He understands celiac.

Our server went over the menu with me and identified all the necessary modifications. It was refreshing to find a mom n pop shop that was knowledgeable and able to accommodate a gfree diet. Good food and good prices.

What a great find! Good food and Jack really takes the time to make gluten free food and avoid cross contamination issues. He came to the table and went over every menu item that could be made gluten free (and there were many). Jack then went back to the kitchen and made the dishes we ordered. It seems like Jack is probably present almost all of the time. If he is there - they really know their gluten free food prep.

Good food. Good service. Very gluten knowledgeable. Will be back!

WTF was everyone else talking about? maybe I came after the knowledge person had left. the waitress acted like she had no idea what I was talking about. she couldn't point things out that were gluten free and just to said they could make anything. the place was dirty and the food was not good. and now I have a tummy ache
What a relief to go somewhere that actually understood celiacs. Jack the owner came out and told me all I could have. He cleaned the grill and even found me some gf bread to eat on the side. I had the BBQ chicken and it was great! Would definitely recommend eating here!

I live in Cortez, this is the best, safest place to eat gf. Owner is very knowledgeable about celiac, used to train others for the Hilton. Lots of options, burgers and sandwiches with lettuce wrap, gf meatloaf, a yummy bbq gf roast beef, etc. They'll also clean the grill for you! Good prices and nice portions!
good food. very knowledgeable about food allergies.

Jack was very nice and friendly however they do not have a gluten free menu. We went for dinner but I ended up ordering breakfast. I had the kitchen sink which was eggs, bacon, potatoes, cheese, etc. and it was very good. The choices were somewhat limited for gluten free and that's why the lower rating.
There getting the menu together for printing, will have breads, deserts soon. One soup gf daily & many entrees are or can be gf. Owner/manager Jack used to teach classes on gf food prep/service for a major hotel chain & was very helpful! I had gf meatloaf (better than home), mashed potatoes, veggies & salad. Great homestyle cooking!
