When you say you are gf they change gloves and get a separate cutting board and knife. They do their best to avoid cross contamination, and I have never gotten sick from eating cold subs here. I would recommend asking for fresh toppings, though- I have seen crumbs in the lettuce. We have eaten take out from here prob 2x a month for the last year or two and I have never gotten sick. Thanks JM!!

Have always had good experiences up until now. Specified severe gluten allergy- then proceeded to watch the same worker I spoke to wipe down the meat cutter with the same towel she wiped down the bread crumb covered counter with. She then touched the meats with the gloves she touched the bread with. Will not be returning after this.

They use separate cutting boards and gloves to prevent cross contamination. I’ve never gotten sick here and am very sensitive. Very good option!

The cold subs are your best bet here, as the hot subs go on the stove which has cross contamination with bread according to the staff member I spoke with. When I said I was getting a gluten free sub, they offered to change their gloves and get a dedicated cutting board. They seemed very knowledgeable about cross contamination. The staff member at the head of the line cleaned down the slicing machine and was persistent in making sure everyone down the line changed their gloves before my sub got to me. If you’re very sensitive, I could imagine cross-contamination might still be an issue with the possibility of crumbs getting in the toppings throughout the day. The bread is meh but overall a good sub and they even have a gf snickerdoodle cookie option.

I always love jersey mikes cause they do the gf prep in front of you, and they clean and take it seriously, I watch them open the bread from a separate area, and put it on a mini cutting board! The prep is great, and I never have stomach aches. I think it’s a great place for lunch!

To be honest I was very nervous to try because of all the bread around. The staff is trained properly and they do a nice job changing gloves, using gf cutting board and knife.
Delicious!! They are careful with preparing my sandwich (been there twice) and never had issues getting sick. I do not have celiac but get very sick with cross contamination.
$2.50 extra for gluten-free bread. Sandwiches are good. They were pretty good with precautions. Still, if I were super sensitive, I’d be worried about the amount of wheat flour crumbs floating around.

Service took a while. I ordered ahead of time even. I waited around 15 minutes once I arrived and was told it would take longer because of my allergy. Overall bread was hard and fell apart while eating it.

I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to get a gf sub. They asked allergy or preference, wiped down the counter, put down paper, used a clean knife, changed gloves, and were cool about grabbing toppings from the back. They even moved the sandwich to fresh paper at the end of the line instead of wrapping in the paper that had sat on crumbs. Altogether I was impressed! At most locations I have to correct things as I go down the line, but the two staff who interacted with me here seemed very well trained on gf protocols.

They ask if you have an allergy or preference when it comes to the gluten free bread. After stating I have an allergy they cleaned the slicer, the counter, and all of the staff switched gloves. A new employee had accidentally used the mayo knife so they gave me new bread and then they use the squeeze bottle of mayo to prevent cross contamination. Everyone was very friendly, understanding, and aware of how to handle my allergy.

Amazing processes and protocols for safe handling of gluten free sandwiches to avoid cross contact. They explained their protocol to me without me prompting or asking any leading questions, showing me that know how to prevent cross contact.
