I have been to other Jersey Mike’s locations where they had a separate prep area including separate toppings (tomatoes, lettuce, onions, etc.) but this location only uses the back slicer and proceeded to use all of the same veggie bins that sit right in front of the regular prep area where there are tons of crumbs. One of the employees had just made a regular sandwich and threw back some of the lettuce into the bin. They put your sandwich on a separate tray so the bread doesn’t get contaminated but they are not safe with the toppings.

There sandwiches are awesome! My celiac son loves eating here. You can watch them prepare the sandwiches to make sure there isn't any CC. We've eaten here 10+ times and have never had a problem.

I asked what precautions they take. He said they have a separate slicer in the back but they use all of the ingredients like tomatoes, onions, and lettuce from the same prep area as the gluten bread. That area was covered in bread ends and crumbs. No way this place is safe to eat.
They are not careful with cross contamination. Will not come back again !!
Great place for a sandwich, they are so careful and knowledgable. Just ask them to hollow out some of the bread, it's a little thick.

The guy making my sandwich started making a wrap part way through on the grill, I had the girl at the check out make sure he changed his gloves again since he was about to finish my sandwich, he did it but definitely had a scowl on his face. It seemed like the other staff was knowledgeable but I would just make sure when you go to double check and watch. The lehi location seemed a lot better about being safe with gluten free. On the grill they use same utensils and area for the gluten bread just FYI.
They change gloves and prepare sandwich in separate area. They bring it out on a tray to put your toppings on in front of you. I’ve never had an issue. My favorite is the Cali club

I ordered my sandwich on Udis gluten free sandwich roll. Staff was great they changed their gloves and made my food in a separate prep area. The sandwich was huge and so so yummy! And more importantly I didn’t get sick! I will defiantly be going back.

$2.50 extra for gluten-free bread. Sandwiches are good. They were pretty good with precautions. Still, if I were super sensitive, I’d be worried about the amount of wheat flour crumbs floating around.

Service took a while. I ordered ahead of time even. I waited around 15 minutes once I arrived and was told it would take longer because of my allergy. Overall bread was hard and fell apart while eating it.

I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to get a gf sub. They asked allergy or preference, wiped down the counter, put down paper, used a clean knife, changed gloves, and were cool about grabbing toppings from the back. They even moved the sandwich to fresh paper at the end of the line instead of wrapping in the paper that had sat on crumbs. Altogether I was impressed! At most locations I have to correct things as I go down the line, but the two staff who interacted with me here seemed very well trained on gf protocols.

They ask if you have an allergy or preference when it comes to the gluten free bread. After stating I have an allergy they cleaned the slicer, the counter, and all of the staff switched gloves. A new employee had accidentally used the mayo knife so they gave me new bread and then they use the squeeze bottle of mayo to prevent cross contamination. Everyone was very friendly, understanding, and aware of how to handle my allergy.

Amazing processes and protocols for safe handling of gluten free sandwiches to avoid cross contact. They explained their protocol to me without me prompting or asking any leading questions, showing me that know how to prevent cross contact.
