I can’t speak for celiacs or severe allergy people but for someone like me who is gluten sensitive, my experience was a 10/10. Without having to ask the girls behind the counter changed their gloves, whipped down the counters, used a new knife, put a sheet between the bread and counter and went to the back to grab the gf Mayo (made without the malt) once I asked for the gluten free bread. I expected to have to ask but I didn’t! The bread was also a 10/10. Best gluten free bread I’ve had yet. (I’ve been struggling to find one I like). Thanks jersey mikes!

Probably not a safe choice for celiac, but I enjoy the option of the GF bun for those sandwich cravings. Customer service is a bit to be desired, but it seems that’s the reality with these large corporations with lots of staff turnover.

This is the worst place ever! Do not eat if you are celiac! There are crumbs everywhere and they touch everything. Definitely not safe!

I love Jersey Mike’s. The GF subs are great. This particular branch is one I will never go to again.
The place was empty it was prelunch. I ordered my sub and the guy asked if I was celiac- I was. When I responded he said “oh great.” “You decided to come here?” And just to make sure you have the proper context: he made it absolutely clear that he was not happy about making a gf sub. “I’ll do the best I can but I can’t promise anything” I wish I had a backbone and just left, but I wasn’t worried about contamination just this guy was a prick. I’m sorry. He did change his gloves frequently to the point I wondered if they got special training. (At one point I was going to tell him it wasn’t necessary but then I remembered he was rude, so let him waste 10 gloves)
By the end I didn’t bother him with mayo nor did I even ask for a cup for iced tea. I laughed at the screen prompt for a tip.
I will say the first time I was there it was this guy and another guy who helped me. This guy was just watching sports and doing whatever, I dealt with his coworker- who was super nice.
I support this franchise but I will go to the one on 130 in Hamilton- they never made me feel like a burden. I refuse to go to this one ever again.

Great gluten free subs!! The rolls are great. It is so nice to have a gluten free sub and/or cheesesteak!
$2.50 extra for gluten-free bread. Sandwiches are good. They were pretty good with precautions. Still, if I were super sensitive, I’d be worried about the amount of wheat flour crumbs floating around.

Service took a while. I ordered ahead of time even. I waited around 15 minutes once I arrived and was told it would take longer because of my allergy. Overall bread was hard and fell apart while eating it.

I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to get a gf sub. They asked allergy or preference, wiped down the counter, put down paper, used a clean knife, changed gloves, and were cool about grabbing toppings from the back. They even moved the sandwich to fresh paper at the end of the line instead of wrapping in the paper that had sat on crumbs. Altogether I was impressed! At most locations I have to correct things as I go down the line, but the two staff who interacted with me here seemed very well trained on gf protocols.

They ask if you have an allergy or preference when it comes to the gluten free bread. After stating I have an allergy they cleaned the slicer, the counter, and all of the staff switched gloves. A new employee had accidentally used the mayo knife so they gave me new bread and then they use the squeeze bottle of mayo to prevent cross contamination. Everyone was very friendly, understanding, and aware of how to handle my allergy.

Amazing processes and protocols for safe handling of gluten free sandwiches to avoid cross contact. They explained their protocol to me without me prompting or asking any leading questions, showing me that know how to prevent cross contact.
