Judoku Sushi

This review is for the Rockridge location on College Ave. But I believe it applies to both locations. They only have 2 rolls that are gluten free, and one of those rolls is rice free too. They were unwilling to make modifications to rolls to increase their gluten free offerings. I asked about just making a change to one thing to make something gluten free (adding that I was willing to pay more). For example, tuna instead of spicy tuna. They would not do it. Some of the rolls I was surprised were not GF. For example, they have two versions of the California roll, one with imitation crab and one that is more expensive with “Snow Crab” -I have no clue why the version with real crab would not be gluten free, but it was not one of the two options. The waitress was unable to explain why certain things like this were not gluten free but just repeated we only have two rolls that are gluten free. When they brought me my gluten free roll, they brought it on the same plate as the two other non-gluten free rolls ordered by my friends.

Was clear on my needs and reassured. Got my roll in the same container as a gluten containing roll. I asked them to remake my role in a separate container. The role they remade looked super sloppy compared to the one that they had put in the same container with my friend's food. It was like it was slapped together hastily, and it felt like a really crappy thing to do. The woman up front was super 'yeah, whatever's about it. I'm sick today, so the remade roll still wasn't safe.

The sushi is really good and they made sure to package the gf take away separately. Loved it!
