Do not go.
We called bc of the mixed info here. My husband asked if they had a gluten free menu and the hostess said “well, no, but our tacos are on corn tortillas.” He then asked about the marinade for the meats and she confirmed they their marinade DOES contain soy sauce so the tortillas are irrelevant. They clearly don’t know what they’re talking about.

I was so excited to check this place out. When we walked in and asked if they have gluten free options they seemed clueless. Never a good sign. Shared fryer. Not safe for celiacs. Can’t believe a fellow celiac would say this place is safe :(
Very good food. All quesadillas have corn tortillas and chips are gluten free. Slow service but people are very nice.
Had a different experience than the other reviews here. Was told by our server that the food was not safe for me. She said all the meats were marinated except the scallops and shrimp. She was unsure what was specifically in the marinades, but she said there was soy sauce. Chips share the fryer with gluten, as do the plantains.

La Bamba is a nice Mexican food option centrally located in LBI. When I indicated j had Celiac disease, they took it seriously and told me what ingredients in certain meals possibly might be subject to cross contamination in the kitchen... Sadly, there was no guarantee that the rice and beans wouldn't be contaminated.... But anyway I was assured by the waitress that the owner would cook my meal and I had shrimp with garlic sauce which was very good and didn't give me any problems.
Has awesome Mexican food and uses corn tortillas No cross contamination to worry about

The wait staff was completely knowledgeable about my gluten free needs. They were able to make almost anything on the menu gluten free and the food was amazing.
