We had very high hopes for this restaurant. The chef had Celiac's. We tried it twice six months apart and got sick both times. The first (3/2022) it was just my son who got glutened, but the last time this past weekend we all got severely sick.

Had brisket, pulled pork, and pizza.
Brisket and pulled pork were amazing, stated gluten allergy and rolls were placed in separate container for my other family members as were shared the meals. Even they raved about the food.
Had the wood fired gf pizza, they use a separate pan to prevent cross contamination. Dough is from a local gf bakery, recommend the "white lizard" pizza.
Gf items were marked gf, no issues, would go back again.
I did call before hand as I was just staying in the area for a few days and they were able to answer answer all of my questions.

Chef is Celiac. Great food- creative and a little greasy (comfort food). If you’re looking for healthy, this is probably not your best pick but very nice establishment with great care and service.

This place is amazing! Our family of four ordered all gluten free. I have a garlic allergy so the waitress kindly checked with the kitchen to make sure she could offer foods free of garlic. They are very knowledgeable and I didn't get a migraine! If you are not dairy free, try the creme brulee for dessert! I don't usually care for creme brulee, but it was so good.

Me and my celiac wife ate at the Lodge today. The owner has a gluten allergy and eats gluten free. This was a huge comfort to my wife who worries about cross contamination. He was awesome, Sunday mornings it is a buffet , he offered to show us what she could safely eat. Since we were concerned with cross contamination, he got her food from the kitchen. She had pulled pork, brisket, smoked turkey, au gratin potatoes, brisket hash browns, green beans and he made her the most amazing berry cobbler with whipped cream. She was thrilled to find such a gem located near us for a change. Highly recommend the Lake Hope Lodge for anyone with celiac. And the views are pretty awesome as well. To is located in the middle of a state park with a lake and multiple hiking trails. Several cabins for rent as well if you’d like to make a weekend of it.

Just heavenly. The chef has been gluten free for many years, and understands. He was clear that although there is a dedicated fryer, it shares a ventilation system with the other fryer, so he doesn't eat the fries. Some could. The local, hand smoked meats are gluten free. I had a great Ruben and gluten free version of the berry cobbler, substituting a baked sweet potato for the fries, all on a deck outside the restaurant, with treetops and a view.
