Lambert's Downtown Barbeque

Server wasn’t sure what was GF-just told me to choose a couple of dishes and he’d find out. Did say to stay away from anything fried or with soy sauce-so thankfully he knew what the gf hidden ingredients were. Person delivering dish had no idea if gf or not. No indicators that it was even prepared how server requested. Had grilled shrimp and grits-thought it was safe but glutened :(

I’m confused about the high ratings. Yes, the food is tasty and people with Celiac can eat here, as my daughter and I did without getting sick. However, you must be willing to tolerate every employee looking down their nose at you the ENTIRE TIME. The hostess asked us three times if we were sure we wanted to eat here. The waiter barely gave us the time of day, and seemed exasperated at our questions about what we could or couldn’t eat. Service was horrible, and atmosphere wasn’t anything great. For $20+ for meat only (sides are an additional $8-$16), the prices are insane. Maybe if the atmosphere and service were amazing, I wouldn’t mind paying $28-$36 for a meal, but to pay this much for a tiny, crowded restaurant with snobby employees and lots of noise from the kitchen is just not my cup of tea. Not sure why all the rave reviews...

This place was so good that I gave them 5 stars in-spite of the fact that I suspect they might use MSG... I felt a little off after eating, but definitely not gluten. The food was exceptional! The service was very good! It’s not cheap, but this is barbecue done right! Truly a restaurant experience... not a bbq joint.

had the charcuterie board, scallops, and tried the bbq. didn't get sick. overhyped i think. atmosphere was loud.

Most of the menu is gluten free and good..but incredibly too spicy. I wouldn't say I'm that sensitive but I ended up leaving half my food on the plate. The rest of my group cleared their plates so maybe it was just the grits and pork I ordered.

Staff and cooks well versed in everything GF. Got the hanger steak and eggs and was delicious. According to the chef all their meets (w/o sauce) are GF. Didn't attempt the ribs though.

Waitress was knowledgeable and very helpful. My son loved the half chicken and mash potatoes. Very expensive for BBQ.

Lovely spot with amazing food and great atmosphere. Knowledgable staff, most of the menu is GF.

I am just not a fan of fancy bbq. It is like fancy Mexican food - it just doesn't taste as good as casual, messy bbq.

chef's wife is gluten free, so aware of issue.
