If you are fan of the French Revolution and celiac, got to Precope for the history but male sure that you eat ahead of time. There is almost nothing that is GF. Fill up on history, but nothing to eat.

Called ahead to discuss gluten free options and when we arrived the host confirmed we would need gluten free food. However, when I ordered I confirmed my food would be gluten free, the server said yes. Of our three course meal my beef came with regular gravy, and the dessert came on a cookie base. Both times I had to ask if they were gluten free and they were not. No alternatives were offered. Food was given to others at the table who could eat it. I am not sure if this was just the server not understanding or if it was an issue with the kitchen.

We went to this restaurant following the reviews. The staff had zero knowledge of Coeliacs or gluten intolerance, with our waiter suggesting the ravioli as "sans-glutene" for our seven year old daughter. We asked if he was sure about that at which point he changed his mind. A manager was brought over who was similarly unimpressed with our plight or inclined to help. Much pleading eventually resulted in salmon without sauce and boiled potatoes. Avoid.

There is no gluten free menu but the staff was knowledgeable about their options. I had beef with no sauce and fries. Crème brûlée for dessert is naturally gluten free when made the traditional French way. Everything was delicious. The place was very full and reservations are a must.

Fantastic restaurant with a mind blowing amount of history. Established in 1689(!) it is the oldest continuously operating restaurant/cafe in Paris. A favorite restaurant of some of the influential thinkers of the American and French Revolutions as well as Voltaire, Chopin, Napoleon and Rousseau, to mention only a few. Head staff is gluten knowledgeable. And while the GF member of your group may not be able to eat the bread or traditional French sauces/stew, there are enough delicious, naturally GF options on the menu that we can enjoy our meal and soak up the ambiance of this amazing historical place.
