When I made the reservation there was a space to mark “gluten allergy.” I took this as a good sign that they would be aware of my needs. Unfortunately it was clear that the server had no idea when we sat down to a basket of bread and were served complimentary bruschetta. It’s fine, my husband ate it. The server clearly had no idea about gluten free options except that GF pizza and pasta were available and she could check with the chef. I ordered seafood pasta.
The sauce and seafood were delicious. The pasta was … crunchy. I think in some spots it sat under a broiler or heat lamp but overall it was clearly not cooked all the way. However, this was reassuring that it was GF.
The dessert menu has THREE gluten free desserts (plus gelato). I’ve had them all on various occasions. They are delicious and the portions are huge (especially for something so rich). They could easily serve 2.
I give the dessert 5 stars but the dinner experience 3. My food was safe but clearly my needs and making me feel welcome and included were afterthoughts at best, which is disappointing in an Italian restaurant.
