Review of Lots of Eats Thai Kitchen

Overall Rating

Review

This is a rating from a family of reactive, symptomatic Celiacs: If you truly have celiac disease with severe reactions to gluten, look elsewhere. No cross-contact precautions here! We called and asked the restaurant what precautions they generally make to avoid gluten cross-contact. The restaurant rep shared that they use all the same cooking utensils, woks, pots, and cooking machinery for GF and gluten-free food! Even worse, they do not have any practices to prevent cross-contact other than “washing pots.”

We followed up to to ask whether they cleaned these pots thoroughly before preparing gluten free food in them and the restaurant rep said “no promises” eek! Further, when we asked whether the chefs usually to changed gloves, aprons, utensils, and surfaces and used fresh batches for safe gluten-free food prep, the restaurant rep told us just to look elsewhere because it would not be safe to eat there if someone had a true allergy or Celiac (appreciate this level of honesty as it is better safe than sorry!)

Definitely confused with all the good ratings, not sure if they are asking these types of questions, but celiacs should, especially if you’re reactive like us! Given the other positive reviews here, it was surprising and disappointing to hear this, but perhaps they’re under new management or have changed their policies. Grateful for their honesty, we took their advice and sought safe gluten-free Thai food at a different locale for safety.
