The gluten free fish & chips was excellent.
Unfortunately, the downtown Indianapolis location appears to have closed.

Delicious food! I was pleased with the gf cheese curds through the rest of the meal.

They have a lot of options on the menu and the food was tasty. My risotto, however, came out with the breadcrumbs. The server assured me he'd said allergy on the order. The meal was taken back, cooked again from scratch and taken off the bill. The restaurant also gave us a free gf dessert. They seem to care about their reputation and offerings for GF eaters.
Amazing meal. Fish and chips in dedicated fryer and dessert. Friendly and knowledgeable wait staff.
I ordered the fish and chips, was assured it was gluten free and cooked in a separate fryer, but it tested positive for gluten. They did take it off the bill.

I give this two stars, because from the looks of the menu, there’s a lot of GF food, however almost immediately after eating, my body rejected it. (A usual symptom when I eat gluten.) I peaked into the kitchen on my way out from the bathroom and it looks like there’s one grille, and GF food and non are all cooked on it together, which causes a lot of cross contamination.
My gluten intolerant husband had fish and chips and calamari... All safely fried with rice flour! We can't wait to go back sometime. Delicious.
Unbelievably delicious gluten-free food!! All fried items are fried in rice flour batter. Super safe for celiacs. Highly recommend.

OMG...The best GF food I have ever had at any restaurant. The staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating! The menu had lots of GF options and also showed menu options that could be made gluten free. The GF fried fish and fries were outstanding and the GF Apple cobbler (which was big enough for two people) was out of this world! Highly recommend this restaurant!

First time eating deep fried cheese curds in 5 years! Many gf items with a dedicated fryer. I would definitely go back in a heartbeat!
Yes
First time eating cheese curds in years. Also had fish and chips. Good fries.
Phenomenal food and wine selection. Chef was extremely aware and sensitive to cross-contamination, not serving quinoa with the (delicious) Tandoori salmon. Highly recommend.
Yes
Had a dedicated frier. wonderful knowledgeable staff.
80% of the menu is Gluten Free or can be modified to be GF. cool wine bar, foodie atmosphere, descent prices, amazing wine selection and the food is over the top and super satisfyingly. They have a dedicated fryer. First time I had Calamari and Fish and chips (fries) in 5+ years. their tarter sauce is perfect. very friendly staff, very accommodating. Harry was our server, very attentive and knowledgeable. highly recommended to Celiacs and anyone else!

Hands down amazing service, amazing food.

This place is AWESOME!!! The atmosphere was great, our server was wonderful and understanding, and the food was delicious! For the first time since my celiac diagnosis, I didn't have to worry about eating out because the menu was clear and the staff was informed. What a wonderful experience! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

Good food. Understanding staff.
Not a ton of options, but enough.

Delicious, delicious, delicious. Our party of four all ate gluten free and it was wonderful food, a fabulous atmosphere and outstanding service! I'm definitely going back again.
Yes
Amazing gluten free options and outstanding service!
Informed by the chef that this restaurant does NOT have a dedicated fryer due to space restrictions. Salad came with bread on the plate. Waiter was not knowledgable of celiac.
No
Absolutely wonderful! Everything clearly marked. The fish and chips here are breaded and naturally gluten free!
First time visiting, menu identified items that were or could be made gluten free. Many options. We ordered the pork gnocchi using gluten free noodles and loved it. We will go back again.

My husband took our oldest daughter, who is a very sensitive celiac, for a Valentines date tonight. She was vomiting two hours later (her usual gluten response) and has now been vomiting for close to two hours. VERY disappointed and disheartening. We were so excited to potentially have another safe place to eat but we will never take our girls there again.

want to come back to try more as I only had a few appetizers - but tons of GF options, dedicated fryer, and fun atmosphere. I’m a super super sensitive celiac and had no issues; I tried the brussel sprouts (some bites really good, some bites just okay) and the fried curds - delicious!!

I am a very sensitive Celiac and I had no problems at Louie's. Our waitress was a Celiac herself, so she assured me that it was safe for me to eat there. She said that when she put gluten free on our order she had to specify it was for an allergy and not a preference. I would recommend reminding your waiter/waitress to do that, if you have an allergy. Their menu is clearly marked and you need to ask if their fryer is separate or shared, apparently it isn't all the time. I had the spinach artichoke dip, butternut squash salad and chicken piccata with no issues. I would say this restaurant is very safe for Celiacs.
