Lucia | Italian Restaurant

I’ve been coming to Newport for over a decade for vacations and can’t believe I’ve never heard of Lucia’s for gluten free until this year. As a person with Celiac, it is hard to find a delicious Italian restaurant that can give you a variety of options gluten free and Lucia’s definitely provides it. I had Insalata Portafino and Pollo Al Forno and both were very nice. I already am hoping to go back one more time before we leave to try a pasta dish. I definitely recommend coming here.

Enjoyed an exceptional gf df meal. Wonderful friendly knowledgeable waiter. He knew all the ingredients without having to run back & forth to chef. Made our experience relaxing. Hope to eat there again when in Newport,RI

Went here for the first time a few days ago for dinner where they serve Northern Italian cuisine. Both my non-GF BF and I were able to enjoy delicious Italian food here. No gf bread pre meal, standard gf penne for pasta options but separate gf menu available just ask. I had penne alla Venezia which was pasta in a garlic white wine cream sauce with shrimp and scallops, bf had pizza of some sort. We both cleared our plates. Not sure if they have any gf dessert options but no room left this time. Will definitely be back in the future.

Outstanding service! The server was well educated on all food allergies. They provided a gluten free menu, reviewed all the items that can be altered on the menu. He even told the kitchen staff no cross contamination keep food separate and listed my allergies. I was blown away with the extra care and diligence that was taken to ensure my dining experience would not cause me harm. Hassan will forever be remembered as the best server. You must visit this location and try the delicious foods and enjoy the experience!

This small Italian restaurant is a gem. It has a relatively large gluten free menu and the quality of the was very good. I had veal with a spicy marinara and mozzarella cheese on it, and it was excellent. It is rare to be able to get veal in a restaurant because they almost always bread it, which they did not here. Our hostess was very welcoming and our waiter was friendly and provided excellent service. He suggested a wine that he said would go well with the veal, and it was very good. I would definitely return.

Very happy with our experience. My 8 year old has celiac and was pleased to get her own GF menu with plenty of options. Enjoyed a caprese and penne with marinara and sorbet for dessert.

We always have a great meal at Lucia's - the service and atmosphere is always top notch and their gluten free menu has lots of great choices. We have never had a bad meal here and they are very careful with those diners who are eating gluten free. We will be back!

Pasta was excellent. I ate here years ago prior to my celiac diagnosis and thought it was delicious then. This was my first time coming here since being diagnosed and was thrilled to find out I could still have my favorite dish with the gluten free pasta! It was as good as I remembered. Menu had a decent selection and I did not get sick.

Small portion, seemed like standard box pasta. Very limited options. No air conditioning in the restaurant. Quality and quantity for $$ was not worth it.

such a knowledgeable staff and very accommodating! Highly recommend. I had a gluten free pasta and waited 24 and did not get sick!

This restaurant is amazing. It was a great experience for someone with a severe allergy along with everyone else. Excellent staff, decor is a little old school.
