Unfortunately, they didn't know what they were doing. I asked several times to talk to the manager, but he didn't come to talk to us until we were about to leave. He really didn't know what he was doing anyway, when it came to what was and wasn't really gluten free. The wait person was super nice, but he really didn't know what was and wasn't gluten free. Though the menu has items marked as gluten free, my server was warning me that parts of these meals may or may not actually be gluten free. He was concerned about cross contamination and gluten in some items that were listed as part of meals marked gluten free. I had the sense from him that the chefs may be adding things not a part of the original recipes. For example, he thought they might be adding flour to the mashed potatoes. None of the sandwiches I saw on the online gluten free menu were marked gluten free on the in-restaurant menu, though they have gluten free buns. No one seemed to be knowledgeable about which sandwiches could be made gluten free. It was impossible to make a good choice and to feel confident about it.

Very impressed with the large gluten free menu. Also, has gluten free bread for sandwiches/burgers.

Our family is visiting the area and tried Lucille's based on the past reviews. My son has celiac so we ordered him a cheeseburger on the gluten free bread with a side of fruit. We told our waitress that he has a gluten allergy and she said she would note it on the order so we were hopeful.
I'm not sure if the bread was actually gluten free or if it was cross contaminated, but he hasn't been this sick in years. He hasn't eaten anything else today that could have possibly been cross contaminated.
If you choose to eat here and you are Celiac or sensitive to gluten, you might want to try speaking with the manager first, or go to a different restaurant.

Separate GF menu. Delicious food! Felt safe . Even a notation that although fried stuff had GF ingredients, no separate fryer existed, so buyer beware. They obviously know what it’s all about.
Extensive GF menu! The ribs were delish and so was the chili. Cute, retro looking diner. Will definitely go back!!
Very large gluten free menu. Have gluten free bread for sandwiches. Uses seperate toaster and the staff was very knowledgeable. I had the California chicken. Delicious.

I got violently sick here, they put GF bread and allergy on the ticket but apparently it was not. The bread was too good and didn’t seem like Udi’s... I should have known better.
No
Large GF menu that clearly labeled food that was Celiac safe and what was made in a shared fryer. The BLT on Udi’s bread with basil mayo was really good. There were lots of safe side dish offerings as well since French fries were fried.
This place is absolutely charming. And it has a huge, stand-alone GF menu. The fries aren’t GF, but that fact is clearly marked on the menu. They really “get it.”

You aren't going to find a more friendly place with a gluten free menu anywhere else. No matter what I order everything is delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone, not just celiacs

Very large gluten free menu. I also have a problem with soy. Waitress didn't know but asked and told me what I was ordering was safe. Very good food at a reasonable price. Will definitely go back.
