This is our favorite place to eat when we visit UIUC. Nearly the whole menu is gluten free - staff is knowledgable about celiac and cross contamination. We love the chips and guacamole, as well as the fajitas. Always a great meal.

They have a separate fryer and the staff was willing to explain exactly what was gluten free. Many options.

By far the best Barria I've ever had. Almost everything on the menu is or can be made gluten free. A lot of Masa is used. They press their own tortillas. Just an overall amazing experience.

My “go to” Mexican restaurant in CU. Almost all corn tortillas. My summer favorite is the taco de camarones - blue corn tortillas filled with grilled shrimp , lettuce , cucumber, bell pepper salsa and avocado salsa !! Ice tea is great, too, from a local roastery - fiesta mexicana

Guessing I got a little CC somewhere. Nothing bad, just a little headache. My tell. Food is great with a lot of options.

They have said almost their entire menu is or can be made gluten free. They use a lot of corn tortillas as opposed to flour, which makes it much easier, and unique in that they have SO many options for gluten-free food. The portions are generous (I have leftovers every time). I have never gotten sick from eating there, but I will say that the food is very filling and some items are a little greasy. But I've loved everything I've tried there and the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful!

Everything is fried in corn oil and their fried foods are gluten free! My server warned me of potential for cross-contact with grilled items, as quesadillas are also made on the grill. This did significantly limit what I could have, but I got the nachos and was completely fine after.

We ate a really lovely lunch here, nearly everything gluten free, and knowledgeable staff. My son (Celiac) could order basically whatever he wanted. This is more authentic Mexican, not Tex-Mex. Kids menu offers smaller portions. They have a lot of vegetarian options.

Almost all of the menu is gluten free. The tortilla chips are fried in a dedicated fryer. Other fried items on the menu are pan fried (I asked specifically about this) so no CC risk on the chips. Just have to avoid the burritos, tortas, and pan fried items. Delicious homemade corn tortillas. This location has a liquor license and an outdoor patio.

I ate at this restaurant 2 days ago now and I’m happy to report no gluten was consumed nor was I a victim of cross-contamination. I’d heard great things about this restaurant and their sister smaller location several times and I finally had the chance to indulge last Saturday. Our waitress was knowledgeable about what was and wasn’t GF (most of the menu is GF) and even though she was sure the chips were safe she went to ask her manager again just to confirm. My food was delicious, I had chicken with rice and beans and corn tortillas. The corn tortillas were unlike any corn tortilla I’ve ever had, so light and fluffy I just had to take a few home! If you’re in Chambana, this place is a must go! 10/10

Really good food, they were very knowledgeable, and it has way more seating than the campus location. Definitely worth the visit if you are in the mood for Mexican.
