I have heard good reviews for a long time about Maudie’s but haven’t gone since my diagnosis. The menu has a big sign on the front about how much gluten free food they have. I was not confident in the restaurant after talking with the waiter and the speed with which my food came how. I had the Stuffed avocado shrimp salad and it was not good. I don’t feel sick at this point but I would not go back

Make sure you ask for gluten free chips because I started eating the ones on the table and was then told they’re only gluten friendly. The server brought me gluten free chips in a sealed bag and a separate salsa, so they were knowledgeable about cross contamination. Their house margarita was gluten free and they clearly mark which food items are gluten free and which can be made gf upon request.

I ordered a gluten free marked item off their menu, and I informed the waiter that it was an allergy. He then asked me if I wanted flour or corn tortillas with the meal, but he did write down a allergy note on his notepad afterwards. My corn tortillas did come out wrapped on foil and labeled as 'gluten free', but I did not try them. My main dish did not cause me to have a reaction however.
I ordered GF Calderon de pollo and they bring your GF tortilla chips in a sealed bag! Exact same chips as regular ones but protected from cross contamination. Got my own bowl of awesome hot sauce too!!

Had a bad waitress tonight, she got almost everything wrong and unfortunately my beef enchiladas were not gluten free.
I have to say I eat here a lot and this is first time I have gotten sick.

Wow! I flagged down manager and she explained their processes for keeping celiac customers safe. Told them I have celiac disease and they brought me my own salsa and GF chips in sealed bag. Staff well trained on cross contamination. Had tons of GF choices. I had chicken fajitas on corn (no Serrano peppers since newly diagnosed and server said they are pretty spicy). Expo who brought order out specifically said mine GF and tortillas clearly marked GF. Great food and enough for leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Had no issues. Thanks Maudie’s! I highly recommend this place.

Huge gf menu and reasonable prices. By myself, I ate at the bar and got good service. Very busy but not hectic on a Sunday evening. Would go back.

Huge GF menu, great staff, balcony seating, margaritas - it's a regular go-to for our family. Great enchiladas and tacos. GF chips come in bags to prevent cross contamination. Kids love the place too!

Separate gluten free prep area. We love the chips (bagged when they deliver to the table).

GF chips and queso were amazing!

Very good! I love that they bring you your own unopened bag of chips.

Redbridge and good food options. They even have separate gluten free chips.
A good, predictable GF option in our area. They have GF chips that are sealed in a separate bag and don’t share the same fryer. Lots of GF items on the menu and they are very amenable to modifications to the menu. No cross-contamination issues in the four years since my son’s diagnosis.

Stopped here for a quick breakfast taco. My waiter and the person who delivered my breakfast both kindly assured me that it would be GF, and it was (as well as yummy and filling). Their tortilla chips, however, are not GF -- but you can request some, which will come in a plastic bag. Sadly, I found that out belatedly, because the guy who dropped off the chips nodded when I asked if they were GF. I asked my server to confirm, and he promptly grabbed the chips off the table and got me the plastic bag of obviously less yummy, but safe, GF chips. All in all, recommend. Plan to patronize this chain again when I'm back in Texas.

Tons of options on the menu - tell the staff you are GF and they will bring you separate bagged chips and salsa. corn tortillas are steamed separately and other precautions are taken. A great celiac safe choice in Austin!

Maudie’s had patient servers, and could make almost anything on the menu gluten free! Our server was knowledgeable and chill, got us our own unopened bag of gluten free chips, and answered any questions we had. I order the Strait Plate gluten free, three loaded beef enchiladas with fried eggs on top. My partner got grilled shrimp fajitas and black beans. They even have a couple of gluten free deserts to choose from and in house ice cream <3
100% recommend!!! We’ll be back.

Food tasted great. I got glued. They were not careful, despite being told I’m strictly gluten free.
